I watched about ten different videos and managed to do my rear wheel last week off of someone video that was just recently posted. Then when I went to do my front wheel today, I couldn’t get it with his video. Found this one and got it instantly. So I’d say this is definitely one of the best lacing videos on the RU-vid.
Thanks to you Travis, I finally built my first wheelset. Some gold TNT hubs on black Envy rims with gold pips. Thanks dude, your vid was right to the point , and made it super simple. Cheers to you man.
Excellent video, I’m restoring an old Haro DV8 and this is invaluable information to me. I have some questions though. 1. How do you know how tight to do the spokes? 2. How do you true it up?
thank you so much dude, i just couldn't understand no one on RU-vid untill i saw you're video! great men im gonna try with my new hub which will be delivered tomorrow 😀👍
It's said that if you put your 1st spoke to the Right not left of the valve hole it's better to allow a spot to be wide enough to get a pump in. To the left side it tends to be too close to get a pump in.
And I highly recommend you tighten the nipples to you don't see threads. Makes putting spokes in a bit harder but cuts tightening and trueing it time down alot and for people who have never laced a wheel it's very helpful
I got lost on the 2nd layer spoke, did you followed the 3 spoke interval? You just said over and over the spoke and under the last spoke. You did not mentioned why you chose the specific hole on the rim starting on that 2nd layer.
Amazing video thank you so much just got some new rims and spikes for my bike and needed a vid like this to look at I subbed and liked you deserve way more views also :)
i have never done this before until now when im fixing my bmx, i tried to lace the spokes (in a different pattern then this) but when i put the bmx together, the wheel was very loose and like it bendt to just one side. plz help
You just have not tightened the wheel yet. No big deal. All you have to do is tighten each nipple one full turn and go around the wheel on each side until it is fixed.
I've watched 6 different tutorials and once I get more than half way done spoke won't reach the nipple barely everything is the right size. I've wasted 3 entire days almost. I'm crossing over the first two then under the 3rd once I get like 4 to 5 spikes in I can't reach the nipple or I get o e side of rim done entirely and the other I get half finished because spokes are to tight.
Worldwide BMX kinda late but thanks 😂👍🏻 seriously good video, loved the camera angle, made it feel like I was lacing the wheel, can't wait to finish mine thanks!
AND WHAT ABOUT WHEN THEY REALISE, THEY HAVE A HOP IN THE RIM AND NOW THEY NEED TO DISH THE RIM? HOW DO THEY DISH IT? WHAT DOES DISH THE RIM EVEN MEAN? HOW DO THEY MEASURE THE SPOKES NEEDED? HOW DO THEY TENSION THE SPOKES? DO THEY EVEN KNOW HOW TO TENSION THE SPOKES?
