I keep the bottom strap strapped down and the I pass the laces through both straps and go the 2nd lace on the top and tuck it in.

Loosey goosey lacing, like all sneakers, will lose the sneakers integrity over time,, keep your laces intact,, never, loose. Fitted is always better, unless you think like the swag of the thug, is better than the swag of the pretty boy... Up to you....😊
