So many ways to express yourself or totally change the look of Jordan Retro’s if you swap the laces for a new color from a different pair of Nike or Jordan shoes. The black toe with the white laces makes sense, most people do the same color as the tongue so it is not all too wild of a stretch with the white laces on black toe. Bred toes, black laces, black tongue. I did not at all mind the UNC Obsidian laces on the Mochas. I tried the sail laces like most people praise but it had too much off white/sail when looking down or pairing with black jeans. Swapped back to the black laces on them, but I might try that UNC Obsidians blue laces. I swear if you grew out some facial hair, you'd pull off a Klay Thompson impersonation pretty well lol.

EVERY LAVE SWAP WAS DOPE. YEAH I'VE BEEN LACE SWAPPING SINCE HIGH SCHOOL. I PUT OLIVE LACES IN MY MOCHA 1S, RED LACES IN MY BLACK CEMENT 4S, AND I OUT CAROLINA BLUE LACES IN MY RAGING BULL 5S. DIFFERENT SAUCE.

Definitely swapping laces in my kicks. I have a routine (with leather uppers), I condition and leather balm brand new kicks, do a 20 minute horse hair buff and then experiment with the laces

I decided to swap laces on the Jordan 6 carmine, bc everybody has them. Also a must to add metallic lacelocs & tag on them to make it stand out. Some I prefer to leave the laces alone... like my Jordan 1 gold laser, again added metallic lacelocs & tag to standout

I tend to always lace swap all the retros up to the 6, especially with white laces. Idk, it’s just a look that I love. The mochas with UNC laces is an interesting look, I will say.

You should also consider mismatching laces! I love doing it when I get a loud colorway of a shoe and the shoe comes with multiple bright colored lace options!

Lace swaps are definitely the way to express yourself aside from the rare releases where a shoe has a “scratch off/ Wear to reveal” gimmick. Sometimes the extra laces don’t go at all with the shoe, but maybe changing them into a higher quality lace or a color that goes with the palette of the shoe will set it apart.

I always go with the tounge rule, match the tounge or contrast it, black on black or black on white etc, I don’t like putting funky laces on tho, ex. The og travis 1s, they didnt need a pink lace, the red was okay, they had to have some cream or white ones, brown and black work aswell Some of the shoes that I laced swapped include : White laces on ROTY 1’s (only come with red and black) Red laces on Black Toe Low 1’s (only come with black) Cream laces on Cream John Elliott LBJ NikeLab Icons (only come with white) Neon Lime Green laces on my Air Force 1 Low Utility Pack Grey with a neon accent on the tounge and blue small checks around the shoe (only come with grey)
