Tutorial on how to land a 737 in fsx. See FAQ's and scripted tips below. This is all visually done as to help simmers learn to improve landings (visual approach). Hope this helps and subscribe if you like it. I have lots of vids of the sim and am now learning to become a real commercial pilot :) subscribe
-*Don't use reverse thrust under 60 kts*.
-Landing with a heavy load or tank makes landing harder in almost every way. It also might break a limitation on the plane.
-Find a zone of no-movement where the view of a certain point in the distance in front of you (should be the beginning of the runway) should appear to not move while everything else around this point blurs and does move. This no-movement point is essentially where the plane will contact the ground if you just kept flying straight at it. You eventually pull up or round out/flare to land.
Q: I have trouble lining up straight with the runway on landing?
A: Remember where the center line of the runway is in relation to the dashboard of the plane when you're on the runway and you know your perfectly lined up straight and not moving. When u come in landing keep the center-line on that related section of the dashboard as you approach for landing and get closer. Get a joystick if you don't have one.
Q: How do I know what buttons do what?
A: Go to the "Kneeboard" under "Aircraft" in the fsx tool bar while in free flight (access tool bar by pressing "Alt") and then while in Kneeboard, go to "Keys"

That was very helpful, exactly what I was looking for. I cannot fly a jet without stalling it right before the runway on FSX. Very helpful.

beautful landing man just wanna add one thing for those who cant exactly be at the correct altitude ( 2 white and 2 red lights), load a flight and press alt. In that menu u have a landing help option (those boxes that were in the first tutorial of fsx) which whill show u the correct glidescope (proper way to come down). :) Nice vid

just for the elegance and the respect of the procedure, it would be better and less stressful to arm the autobreak so that you don't forget it when you touchdown. The video in its entirety is a perfection.

Thank You, I'm practicing Landing with cesca first With Touch and Go command, I can land but sometimes it's hard sometimes is nice, So I suggest you do touch and go with cesca then do it for bigger planes until you make it perfect. nice tutorial

Program one of your buttons to the "decrease speed quickly" function. Because you were at idle "0 knots", it will reverse into negative/reverse thrust.

heres a cool tip for people who have trouble landing slow instead of like 200 knots...pres speed brake"/" and it will really help you slow down before landing once ur at a good speed take it off then once ur 2 back wheels touch the ground turn it back on and f2 reverse thrust for a nice landing it help if u line up first so u dont have to line up at the last minute

@Bondiblu2 well you dont have the approach plates do you? you have to do it correctly or your plane will not execute the ILS correctly.

@CrimsonHalo. First before touching down be sure to be around 130-150 knots! Then once you're approaching the runaway turn off the auto throttle and the speed, once you've touched down you know the throttle? Once its fully down use your mouse and drag that down and it should reverse also use the spoilers for landing once youve touched down or even in the air it also slows the plane down too!

@JIMAXair
@JIMAXair 11 лет назад
I don't know a percentage, but in this simulator, you could put the artificial horizon on the primary display to say -3 or -2 degrees and I'm sure you could find a throttle percentage that will keep you at a steady 140 knots with flaps. Try it at altitude, say 5,000 feet, pretend to land and you'll find some point where it will just hold 140kts.

wow man that was the smoothest landing i've seen do you have to reset your trim to 0 for it to be that smooth?
@maxomia
@maxomia 13 лет назад
@razordude500 flareing is when right before you touchdown on the runway you bring the nose of the plane up so the back wheels touchdown first and it makes for a much smoother landing. looks like the plane is gliding. can also help slow it a tiny bit during landing

@airindia16
@airindia16 14 лет назад
@JIMAXair yeah that's the spoilers which appear on your wings that spring up when you touchdown down. to make them autopmatically turn on the moment your wheels touch the runway, hit shift + / during your approach

@9gent I think it ctrl j, i do it by second nature so i'm not quite sure, have you parked right on the line? It takes time to connect the jetway, have you ever been on a long flight and then have to wait for ages to get of? well that's why. try to park right onb the line and then be patient. What aircraft are you using? hope this helps

yes a joystick is a good idea it makes it more fun and add some more realism. i have a logitech attack 3 which is pretty good but it doesn't have a twist axis for rudders. i have tried an logitech extreme 3d pro and it is also good and it has a twist axis too. there are 2 versions for the 3d pro. one with force feedback and 1 without it.i would say the 3d pro is better because of the twist axis but the attack 3 isn't bad either! hope this helps! ;)

how do you get stairs to come out of a ryanair boeing 737 8as or 800
@Nickuncle
@Nickuncle 11 лет назад
Well it was an ILS approach on a foggy day so I would definitely not land without the ILS. But normally I turn on the approach which gets me on the glide slope and at somewhere around 50-100ft I turn off the approach and continue descending until 20 ft when I flare the airplane. This time, though, I just kept the engine at 140 knots so it tried to accelerate haha!

And explaining how you will fall down when letting go of the yoke, that's when you set your trim, setting that correctly, your plane will fly straight and you can relieve yourself of any pressure on the yoke.

Bondiblu2 . you need to use your gps too(shift+F3) programe it to fly a gps approach to the selected runway. then you use you approach and nav. put the ils freq into the nav 1 also you need to put your runway heading in the course heading on the far left on the autopilot pannel. you don't need to disable your altitude hold the approach will automaticaly switch it off once it has flown into the glide slope and your plane should land with ils. hope it helps

You should consider buying a Track IR from Natural Point. With the introduction of TIR5, the TIR4 is very price worthy. (Although the TIR5 is insanely good) If you fly a lot, the immersion will blow your mind!
