Thank you so much, this helped me get to the moon and back, and it’s quite stressful at some points, but a feeling of accomplishment when you land on the moon and get back to earth.
Thanks for your help, one year ago I managed to make a full low orbit around the earth. Now I managed to fly around jupiter's moons. Thanks, again for your tutorial.
Simplified intructions: 1. Build a rocket (3 stages is the most ideal). You can even add side boosters. (Note: The third stage must contain landing legs and a seperator to seperate the capsule upon reentry, unless you're confident that you can land the whole stage softly. And use parachutes as well.) 2. Launching: 1. Use the first stage and side boosters to launch the rocket up beyond the Karman Line. If you ended up with enough fuel, use it to reach orbit too (although the side boosters will be seperated earlier) 2. Use the second stage to perform TLI (trans - lunar injection) that will send the craft to a trajectory across the Moon. The perigee must be below 100 km above the surface. 3. Use time - warp. Once the craft reached the perigee, burn retrograde (ignite the engine opposite to the direction of movement) to slow it down and throw it to a lunar orbit. Try to make it as circular as possible. 4. Seperate the third stage and once again burn retrograde, until the perigee becomes the apogee, and the new perigee reaches the Moon surface. 5. Continue to slow the spacecraft down, and activate the landing legs. In a range of 500m and below, try to make the velocity below 10 m/s in order to not destroy the legs. 6. And there you have it! A soft landing, but now we'll have to find a way back. 7. Throw the third stage into an orbit. Try to not make it below 5 km, as you cannot timewarp under that height and will waste a lot of time. 8. Burn in opposite the direction of the Moon's orbit, until the trajectory is finally outside the Moon's SOI (Sphere of influence) 9. Continue to burn until the perigee (compared to Earth's) is inside the atmosphere, or can even straight to Earth's surface. 10. Once you nearly reach the atmosphere, seperate the capsule, and then orientate heat - shield first. 11. The atmospheric drag will slow down the capsule considerably, and when under 2500 m, deploy the parachute and let the drag do it's work.
This tutorial is great, but I couldn't get back to earth because in the new update they added the possibility of the rocket burning from too high speed when entering the atmosphere
Thank. You. So. Much. I'm a newbie and only played for half a week. I can get to the moon but I can never seem to get back. I thought it was much more complex, using those 6 wide fuel tanks and everything. I thought either it was a bit too heavy, it burned too much fuel, I didn't navigate good enough but really its so simple
I been trying to engineer my own Saturn V. Trying to use fairings in the nose as well. I got a wider look snd more fuel with the 6 category build. I been able to enter orbit. Next shot is the moon! 1969 all over again :)
1 month ago : I can't even get to orbit (my rocket looks very cool) now : I can go to moon with orbit and come back ,and the rocket is fully reuseable. (It's not so cool) Simplicity is somehow a big factor to get into orbit
I do make rockets with 7 stages in this Game. I could get to mars and land on earth, also calisto and land on earth, and the hardest was to get into earth orbit and then land on earth, and then go back again to orbit and then splash down. It can be done if you have time to waste like me.
Thank you so much for the tutorial back then when i was new i would always burn in the atmosphere and i realize that i was doing it wrong thanks to you i was able to go to the moon and come back and now im able to fly to mars and land a rover thank you :)
@@carlover116-io9ss its not only about engines, there is a thrust per weight number shown while designing a rocket, use that as knowing whether your rocket will fly out of Earth or not. Also separate your rocket in 3 or 4 stages for mars, because moon is clear that 2 stages are enough
I have tried this with your tips, It was very helpful. I landed there without separating 2nd stage from 1st stage, with bare fuel left on the 2nd stage. also landed at the mare tranquillitatis, where originally the first humans had landed.
By the way, I have tried this and literally died a million times because of heat damage and velocity being too high. I have no idea how he got no heat damage when entering earth, and how his velocity was going low when he didin't even have a parashute to slow him down.
At first I was goofing around trying to get to the moon but then I saw this video, this helped name a lot, it was stressful trying to land on the moon like u did cus the moon wasn't there at the same place urs was but this was really helpful,Thank you very much.
Just to let you guys know this is the general method nasa uses to go to the moon, so if you did this and it worked you’ve basically understood and did what a large science foundation can!
I know how to get to the moon and land safely. It’s getting back thats the hard part. I always run out of fuel because I am bad at getting into orbit. This tutorial has helped a lot.
I just did a flight where I "crashed into the moon" and then "crashed into the earth", same mission, same ship, and i did still have an untouched piece of ship left on ground
Me: watching this tutorial for newbies Also me: Soo okay today i will make 10 very big space stations for saturn and a mars rover perservance. Tomorrow i will make 20 more moon missions and back. And then 140 more satellites. Very easy. (The comment is a joke, i dont really can do that all)
Sometimes i have extra fuel on my boosters, so before I eject them I fill my main tank with the leftover fuel. Usually my main engine runs out before the boosters because of how big my rocket is
I used a really heavy complicated to use machine, and you’re made it with the bigest simple way By the way I reached the moon but I accidentally forgot to turn thé rocket and so the astronaught has a permanent red dot on space so we can have a Memorial Day every time the red dot were hes ship exploded makes us remember how close we gor
Yes, me too like this blueprint for no reason drive.google.com/file/d/1B8gEJms3G-ev0GYprUhGiB2EemZIBHH3/view?usp=drivesdk (I literally build the ENTIRE Saturn V Apollo 11 including the L A U N C H T O W E R 30% BP edit just to go and land on the moon successfully 💀)
I always crashed into the moon because my Velocity was at 476m/s and now i realized i was doing something wrong and now i can land on the moon. Thank you
