Experience the differing boat ramps you will encounter and learn how to launch your boat confidently by yourself (solo) or with young or inexperienced boaters
I bought 2 of the Dekota Boat Retrievers one for my son and the other that I use. We have 17&18 foot Alumacraft boats with one boat equipped with 115hp Etech &9.9hp kicker, the second 75hp Etech & 9.9 kicker. We mainly fish Wisconsin waters, mainly Lake Winnebago and Mississippi River. When fishing by yourself it amazing how well you can launch your boat and how the boat is retrieved to the location you selected. We are in our second fishing season without any issues with the Dekota Retrievers, they are well built and the customer service is outstanding. Bill Meloy Saukville, WI
Hi Kirk. It's a Constant Toque B-Spring 'motor' (i.e. there are no electrical components - it's all mechanical). Thanks for the inquiry. Check it out at: www.DakotaBoatRetriever.com
Hi David! Yes, Dakota comes with 80' of 3/16" Dyneema Rope - tensile strength 1700lbs. Think ski rope. All details - cost, warranties, money back (satisfaction) guarantees, and periodic sales - can be found on our website: www.dakotaboatretriever.com You'll fall in love with this device! Hope this helps.
was wondering how this would do in heavy tidal water ... here in NJ along the coast ,,some times the tide is so strong its even hard to pull in in by hand ....so my question is ,,,does it work in a fast moving tide ????
Dakota is designed to retrieve boats in conditions with tides/currents up to 4 mph (that's about as fast as someone can walk) and/or winds at 15 mph. There are 4 different strengths (models) for the 4 differing class of boats from 12 to 26 feet. More info on the website: www.DakotaBoatRetriever.com
This is nice. I used to tie off to my tailgate, then hop back out to tie to the dock.... Pain in the ass sometimes. These clips, understandingly to show detail, do not show rougher water or current, what about that?
Hi MM. Great observation about the video and good question. Dakota is designed to handle the job in winds up to 15 mph winds and/or 4 mph water currents. I use this same boat and Dakota to launch behind dams during water release - works great every time. Same goes for winds. You can learn more at our website: www.DakotaBoatRetirever.com Thanks for the question!
Does this work if you have trailer post guides? I imagine as the boat releases and you drive your vehicle out of the launch area the cord would tangle with the trailer posts.
Hi Tony. Yep, good question. The answer is when you walk the rope to the dock, you walk it down the side of your boat first and run it behind the guide post and then pull it to the attachment point on the dock. That way when your boat releases from the trailer the rope is already behind the post (instead being in front of it) and free to work. Make sense? Thanks for the question! -Dakota Boat Retriever
