One little tip to make your life even easier with the parchment paper trick. Stick the vinyl to the parchment paper and leave the small corner exposed but don’t stick the exposed edge to the base vinyl. Hold that exposed edge up off the surface and now you can line things up perfectly. Once in the correct placement you can press the exposed edge down and then peel off the parchment paper and it will be exactly where you need it.

My kids bought me a Cricut for mother's Day, knowing I wanted one and would never spend that kind of money. Needless to say I found Cricut itself doesn't explain anything! (Clearly they want you to subscribe and use their images) after 4 days of watching confusing videos I stumbled across these....and thank god.....your very well articulated (simply) and you take the time to show the steps with a clear explanation thank you sooooo much (I was ready to throw in the towel). If you use permanent vinyl, it will not come off. Just don't recommend putting it in the dish washer.

That’s the transfer paper I use and I absolutely love it. Either the duck brand or the brand you can sometimes find at the Dollar Tree. If you need the transfer paper not so tacky just blot it on something to get some of the sticky off of it. It works great.

@@amandas.7143 idk if you’re using the app on your phone or desktop but when I looked it up on my phone I just put Duck adhesive and it’s like the 4th one down. It says Duck Brand 1115496 Peel N’ Stick Laminate Adhesive Shelf Liner, 12-inch x 36-feet, Clear and the price is $5.84....hope this helps you out.

Your last video save my project. I had a single cut design that I was cutting on paper and coloring the different colors but my Cricut stop cutting card stock with two presents left undone. So that video saved me I will give it a try tomorrow. Wish me luck.

It is nice to see you reuse the image. Layering cam be tough. I usually apply each layer to my blank, but it is easier to apply the vinyl at one time! I will try the parchment paper method.

If you’re using the same type of vinyl for all the pieces, can you put all colors of vinyl down on the mat at once and line it up on design space the same way, so you can cut all the parts at the same time? Rather than cutting one part at a time?

Awesome tutorial... Love how you explain your process... Question: at minute 4:15 you say to make sure to put the extra white edge off the part that will cut... What is the purpose of the white vinyl and why not cut off the white part first???... Again your videos are very well done... You're a real natural

Is permanent vinyl dishwasher safe? Like, if I wanted to make stuff to sell (I'm wayyyyyyyyyyyyy far away from that as a brand new Cricut owner..LOL!) one day, would I need to note that it is, or is not dishwasher safe? For some reason, even though we have permanent vinyl options, I'm guessing in dishwashers that get super hot, they vinyl wouldn't sustain the temperatures. But, I'm new and could be totally wrong also. So many questions and so very much to learn. Your videos are so incredibly helpful! Particularly the ones for Cricut Design Space. 😉😋❤

So would the benefit from layering vinyl be choice of vinyl such as glitter etc? Whereas if you print & laminate you dont have the same effect? I watched one of your videos where you did 3 layers of vinyl with the pineapple image but was wondering if it is easier/faster to print a custom image on vinyl printer paper and then maybe laminate, then 'print then cut'? I suppose my main question is what do you think is the benefit of layering vinyl as opposed to print then cut?

You're doing it in an amaturish way. When layering don't apply the sticky part of the transfer paper right onto the bottom layer. First, tape the bottom down, then use a corner of the transfer paper that ISN'T over the actual decal to temporarily stick the 2nd layer down while lining it up. Also stop touching the back of the vinyl with your fingers after you've peeled it off, even a tiny bit of contact from fingers can ruin the adhesiveness of it.

Hi. This video was so easy to follow. Only thing is why when i put all the cuts together on cricut design, they are not coming out to piece together. I highlighted the whole mermaid and set it to 5.5 but when i go to make them they are bigger then the black one you layer the pieces on. Does that make sense what im saying? LOL Help! :)

I have found smart vinyl is the worst to weed! I started cutting it on the plastic setting and it weeds so much easier. I also use regualr scotch tape or blue painters tape to transfer smart vinyl because it just doesnt stick to anything else.
