Follow along as we now plate the floor we snapped out in the previous video! nailing the top and bottom plates of the walls together and down to the floor to prep them for layout!
This is the most efficient way to plate. The way Larry Haun teaches. I took over a crew of guys and they were used to a different way of plating which in my opinion is not as efficient as this. The way they are used to is building one or two walls at a time. Lay down too and bottom plate not on top of one another but butting into each other so that your lay of is on the 5 1/2 face. The only bright side to this method is that you can square your lay out exactly where the stud goes and the studs don’t end up crooked because you have a square line to go with. Although if you can’t keep a stud straight without a line you might need to grab a different gear.
Been doing it for 6 years now! I was supposed to start co leading when I was 18, but the other two leads didn’t work out so I was alone to lead the project
