I was in Madrid when the world shut down in 2020. I was living with a Spanish family and there was a language barrier. The lockdown was 75ish days and by the end of it, I had learned so much Spanish just by immersion. I did a one month intensive learning intensive at a school. My teacher thought I was B1 just by our conversation. Never underestimate the power speaking practice!

I think Xiaoma’s channel shifting from language to full cultural immersion has been great! It maintains the spirit of the older stuff while offering opportunities for new content and audiences

You guys are way smarter than me. I’m a 7-8th generation (we lost count) south central Texan. We barely speak English.

I like coffee too but my approach to coffee making would horrify most coffee nerds. It's a very tea like approach, I just make V60, hand grind the beans, don't weigh or time anything just go by eye, and I find it the most enjoyable way to have coffee

Xiaoma needs to give himself more credit in his ability to tell stories or, at least, create interesting pictures in audience’s brains when he explains a topic. + also he is pretty funny he just needs to lean more into his nerdiness !
