In this video, I cover how to learn data science in 2022 (which tbh is the same as how I would learn data science in 2021still lol) - the minimize effort and maximize outcome way! If you're committed to learning data science in 2022, I have nothing more to say than to watch this video! I spend a lot of time putting this vid together and I can't wait for us to start ;)

Hi, my name is Tina and I'm a data scientist at a FAANG company. I was pre-med studying pharmacology at the University of Toronto until I finally accepted that I would make a terrible doctor. I didn't know what to do with myself so I worked for a year as a research assistant for a bioinformatics lab where I learned how to code and became interested in data science. I then did a masters in computer science (MCIT) at the University of Pennsylvania before ending up at my current job in tech :)

Just learning enough, moving on and iterating. That’s a great tip. When learning almost anything I tend to go deeper in one of the initial steps and feel stuck.

I'm thinking of formalizing and cementing my knowledge of data analysis in order to leave academia, where I've basically been learning bits and pieces of 'stuff' when it became necessary (like, a bit of python, a bit of r, a bit of ML concepts, and so on). I've just started the IBM certification after your other video! Thank you for mentioning the resources. It was definitely informative. I am a SWE thinking about transitioning to DS. I think it would be great if you can make video about the process of doing the actual project. I haven't researched much but I haven't seen something like that a lot. I am not talking about showing the implementation of model and how to choose different approaches but very hight level going through the overall process for someone like me who can learn pieces if they know what they actually are the necessary part for becoming a Data scientist.

Hmm I recently did a project video but it was more specific to the sentiment analysis I was doing. I think that would be an awesome video topic :) Thanks so much for the suggestion - it's high up on my future video list now so stay tuned!

Hi Tina, thank you for providing these useful info for learning data science knowledge. I'm going to pursue a MSDS soon, and I'v learned python ML, MySql, and some Hadoop during my free time, beside working on some resume projects and keep practicing the skills, are there anything I can do to ensure myself getting an intern? Thank you very much!!!

So if you were starting from scratch, what do you think is the minimum amount you need to have learned before you can start on your first project in a meaningful way? And what sort of project would you be capable of completing at that point?

GREAT VIDEO!!! Just one question, I am curious if you are reading a script or you are actually going with the flow? That is because you are doing it very well and I want to do it as well.
