I had just looked for English subtitles. I'll looking to learn Spanish from pretty much nothing so I don't understand a thing. I have pimsleur but I get a week in and slack for a month and start over and continue the cycle. I need to be more consistent for sure Did duolingo over a hundred days and couldn't use anything from the app outside of the app. Similar issue with other programs. Thanks

Algún queísmo, es verdad y también cuando ha pluralizado la forma impersonal del verbo haber (que es cuando "haber" se utiliza para denotar la presencia de algo o alguien). En el minuto 4:25 dice "también habían dos italianos". La forma impersonal no tiene sujeto, por eso sólo se debe usar la tercera persona del singular en los diferentes tiempos "hay" "había", "hubo" o "habrá". La frase correcta es "también había dos italianos". En síntesis, Luca es tan bueno en lo que hace que hasta cuando comete pequeños errores lo hace igual que un nativo.

That's a good point. I think it's a common misconception that Spanish is an easy langauge to learn - not that it's the hardest either, but there're definitely aspects of the grammar that are a true pain in the ass, such as the subjunctive verb form. Madre mía

@@emilstorgaard9642 definitely! if your only language exposure is English, then learning the Spanish subjunctive is gonna be a significant challenge. But if it's Italian, learning the Spanish subjunctive is a breeze. I'd say Luca's tips on learning Spanish are quite biased. They're still helpful nonetheless, but for a language learner with NO exposure to Romance languages, learning Spanish is gonna require more than what Luca advises.

@@Uwek212 My native language is Danish, and I understand Norwegian and Swedish quite well. Apart from that, I had French in school, so I already had some decent understanding of the Romance languages beforehand. Overall, I don't think Spanish is difficult per se, and I understand almost everything on a conversational level. There are just some nuances that aren't that clearly defined at first glance. However, English is very similar to Danish in terms of grammar and usage of vocabulary - many idioms and expressions are the exact same if you literally translate them between the two languages, so English was a breeze to learn for me, like I guess it was for you learning Spanish

Yo no soy Luca, pero... Creo que si ya hablas español (al menos a un nivel intermedio/Avanzado) se te hará mas facil entender el Italiano. Cuando empieces a aprender el italiano tal vez te confundas un poco al principio porque posiblemente te apoyarás mas en tu español para poder expresarte en italiano. Pero una vez pases esa fase lo confundirás cada vez menos porque se ira formando tu "personalidad" en ese nuevo idioma. Luca seguramente tiene videos y articulos en donde explique con mas profundidad este tema.

He basically said that you need to get focused on a single resource at the very beginning until you are developed, because using multiple apps and stuff in general can confuse you. Also said that you need to choose an accent and consume material from the country chosen, once spanish is spoken in many countries and the last tip is to get immersed on the language / live the language (think that he means "speak with natives, with yourself, with your dog and put your efforts on it, you don't really need to be in the target country to start speaking properly"), hope you know what i mean. Of course there are some details that i just didn't write here. Hope this helps you :) There's also an article that he posted on his website about "how to learn spanish" which you can also listen in english.

@@InhigoAlai Sí pero eso dependerá del acento que quiere tener, yo aprendo inglés y no consumo nada de inglés británico, es como dice Luca en el vídeo, hay que familiarizarse con el acento y hacerlo propio.
