So many issues here. Box inset too deep. Using drywall screws because he set box too deep. Longer screws of the correct thread 6-32 is the correct screw. Left wires pretty short too. Should use a flathead screwdriver to get enough torque on those terminal screws. Over 30 years in the trade. Room for improvement brother.

You are definitely not a wireman, your probably a handman

Given the wire (paper wrapped conductors), I'm guessing this is US. Are plastic boxes allowed for 120V? Also hot wire was not hooked and was inserted on the wrong side of the screw.

You are obviously a handy man not a real electrician. 14 awg wire, drywall screws. Guarantee your cover plate screws are going all directions instead of straight up and down. Call a real professional next time

The electrical Nazi's are buzzing from this video! Bruh.... sheetrock screws and the space between the box and the finished surface needs addressed.

If you proport to be an "expert" schooling me on a DIY how-to video you'd better at least meet code. BTW, the cover plate screws probably won’t seat correctly.

If people used their brain to read the instructions there wouldn't be a problem.

Everyone says why the UK plug design is better than the US one. Is there any advantage’s to the US wall plug style? There has to be one thing better about them.
@okaro6595
@okaro6595 9 месяцев назад
They are much more compact which is nice if you carry a phone charger in a pocket. The UK plugs are specifically designed for the ring mains that is not used anywhere else. Also UK plugs are designed for 13 A, US for 15-20 A.

What happens if you use a open ground outlet?
@kalocohan
@kalocohan 9 месяцев назад
So the black wire is the breaker wire going into the load and neutral is whatever comes after the switch. Yeah clear as day.
@okaro6595
@okaro6595 9 месяцев назад
No, both black and white come from the breaker and go to the others (if it is not the last one). You cannot use colors to determine which is the incoming cable. You can measure continuity between the white wire and the ground as they are connected at the main panel.

No line and load side each get a black and white wire ( hot & Neutral). He is working on a dedicated circuit so only one romex cable is going into his box. Not sure why he demonstrated it this way. Modern wiring will have two cables entering a box( each cable holds a hot, neutral, & ground). The exception would be a dedicated circuit such as in this video (only one plug on the whole circuit like an oven, washing machine, or fridge ), or the last plug on a circuit with multiple outlets. The line side gets a hot and neutral from the panel. The way to determine which cable is from the breaker is to disable one or both hots from the receptacle you are replacing turn power back on and test both hots to see which one is live. The live wire is from the panel and is the line, the dead wire goes to next receptacle and is the load. Hot black wores carru current from Panel box to a light, receptacle, etc. neutral white wires are the path back.

If you pigtail the other outlets will not be protected.
