Moving One Board Right to solve 10-Pin?
Moving One Step Backward at standing position?
Do you know the mechanism behind these moves?
Let's think about oil distribution on the lane as our foundation.
This is what bowling minds are about, but of course there are a lot more...
I am inviting everyone to challenge a game of leaving 10-pin like me.
One day you will know how to avoid it.

I always learn something new from your channel. You have a real special way of teaching that others don't. I appreciate all the information you share, it really helps when i struggle on the lanes. I will ball up next time i keep leaving the pesky 10 pin. Thank you Jan.

Practiced earlier today and kept leaving 10 pins the first 2.5 games. I tried changing angles, speed and revs...and averaged 182 first three games. The lane was burnt on the the front, almost heavy oil in the middle and rather flat in front of the pins... I finally balled up and then threw a 249 on the forth game. Thanks for confirming that balling up would have been a good first choice that I'll try next time.

Remember it is Ball Up in the oil, or else it can create many problems

Watch the first throw very carefully. I do believe the three pin slid perfectly into the spot the ten pin vacated.

You can see on those picket shots ball is deflecting toward the 9 pin.. that will leave a 10 almost everytime.. tells you the ball is rolled out
@janproshopchannel
@janproshopchannel 9 месяцев назад
Partially correct. It is about deflecting toward 9-pin. Yet it is actually not rolled out, but oil is being too long such that the ball is not yet in the rolling phase (still skidding or hooking) as it hits pocket. Having a strong cover ball rolled out, it goes to rolling phase way too early, causing the same deflection as well.

I left 10 ten pins in my 3 game league this week. My 590 series would have been well over 700 if those ten pins had fallen for strikes. One 10 pin standing between two strikes causes a loss of 21 pins. Getting the ten to fall consistently is a must!

I remember a few years back when I started bowling again just after the COVID lockdowns were starting to get lifted. I went bowling and I had a game where every single frame was a 10-pin leave. UGH I was so mad. Did get all the spare pickups but that's besides the point.

I am new to bowling terminology What does ball up mean? I am lost with all the different kinds of balls and their different reactions. Is there a guide to explain this? Also how can I find a person to tell me what my revs are ?

Yes, I will certainly add Ball Reaction Guide in my coming beginner tutorial series 🙏🏻

I think I hold the record there .. I left eleven 10 pins in one game (I have the score framed on my wall) My score that game: 8/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/ 9/9 = 190

@@oginaz - no, I left ELEVEN 10 pins .. the first frame was 6-10 spare .. hence, I left a 10 pin (along with the 6 pin)

You must have made some changes to try to reduce the number of ten pin leaves! What did you try that didn't work?
@squidly2112
@squidly2112 9 месяцев назад
@@septembertwenty-nine9989 - well, in this particular case I was using a 12lb Columbia 300 Beast ball (light weight practice ball) and purposefully playing from way left (almost lofting the gutter). I was working on rev-rate and release. So, in this case the reason for consistent 10 pin leaves was because the ball just didn't have enough kinetic energy coming off of the corner to get through the pins and was deflecting to the right, through the 9 pin. The first frame was closer, as it got behind the 6 pin, leaving the 6-10 spare. In order to correct this flat 10 situation, most pro's suggest moving right and get the roll phase started a little earlier (in my case) or a little later if the roll phase is happening to soon. For me and this game, a ball change would be appropriate here, just moving to a Zen Pearl would have fixed this problem for me (but I was practicing certain things and didn't want to do that). I could have also moved a little right (maybe 5 boards) and thrown a little flatter and maybe even a little slower, that probably would have set the roll phase a little earlier for me so that my ball wasn't still in its hook phase when it hit the head pin. Generally speaking, most of the time a flat 10 pin leave means the ball is deflecting too much and leaving the pin deck through the 9 pin, unable to clear the 10 pin out. Paying attention to where you entered the pocket and where your ball leaves the pin deck is key, and then adjusting your ball and throw so you get into the roll phase at the right time such that your ball will continue THROUGH the pins, leaving the pin deck between the 8 and 9 pins.

Playing too straight. You also slowed your ball down when you started getting strikes
@janproshopchannel
@janproshopchannel 9 месяцев назад
It’s a long 48ft, thus playing a bit narrow in demo. Correct, stronger ball allows me to sit in oil without over-reacting in backend, so that I could play slow.
