Last time I checked people told me legally I can build my own gun and own suppressors for myself to keep and not even have to register my own gun in my own state as long as I don't sell the gun or suppressor or give it to someone else. Too many freedoms are being taken away it's time to fight back keep the freedoms here
Glad that you suggested a reason. My default mode is "smart axe" which probably wouldn't go over well if I applied for a tax stamp. AFAIK,Tom Clancy's "Without Remorse" broadly described how to build a suppressor for a .22. I'm sure that he left out a few steps, besides the protagonist not applying for a tax stamp.
I’ve been avoiding filling this out not only because I don’t like government double talk but I want to build my own suppressor. Thanks for clearing up so many questions so quickly.
U are legal to own any firearm or attachment. The government is just making u think it's illegal and when u do and u do something they don't like the punish u for infringing on ur second amendment right.
I don't believe you need CLEO signature if you do a trust. That used to be the case, I don't know if that's changed. Valve spring Retainers work very well for baffles. If you go Titanium route it reduces weight. Stay safe legal and have fun.
I noticed on page two you mentioned "CLEO", can a civilian who has never been a police officer use this form and just write N/A in the first upper 3 spaces, or do they need a totally different form?
Hopefully you got this answered but for others who have the same question, this has nothing to do with the individual being LEO or not. This is so that your local sheriff's department can sign off on said application.
That is my question, does one need a Form 1 for each suppressor that you make ? Can one keep “ spare parts “ on hand such as baffles, wipes or what ever ?
If one buys a solvent trap ( no holes made) before the form 1 is filed, would this invite the ATF to pay someone a visit?? I am currently researching buying a suppressor vs building it with the proper forms for both.
You always run a risk, but the likelihood that they would is slim. That said, I bought a "racing filter" from aliexpress and it was seized during the import process. I got a nice little letter from customs saying They had seized a restricted ATF item, (silencer/suppressor) and I had 30 days to let them know if I wanted to fight it or let them keep it and dispose of it. I'm just glad that's all that happened.
It looks like most on the market are 6-8 inches, I would definitely go on the longer side for better suppression, but at the same time you will never get rid of the sonic boom so pick the right length you are comfortable having on the end of your rifle. I think a general consensus is that aluminum isn't strong enough for rifle calibers, but if you use an aluminum tube with steel baffles and spacers that would essentially give you a double wall of steel and aluminum. You might contact the guy who runs form1builder.com because all he sells is aluminum components and says they work fine.
Does this form allow the fbi to show up inside your house without a warrant basically? Because I know that’s what the paperwork allows the feds to do if you fill out a form to buy an actual suppressor.
No. It is not a form that transfers, amends, or in any way surrenders your rights. I think they do it to monitor situations where in the past, groups got out of control and were able to hoard a massive amount of firepower and subsequently, when a problem developed with those groups, they had no idea what they would be going up against and looked foolish and got some agents killed.
My question is if you are rejected,do you lose the $200 if the tax stamp is never issued? Also what if someone whats a mult caliber suppressor 22LR, .223,.300blk and 7mm-08.
@@markwelch7125 It is my understanding that if your application is rejected then you will receive a refund. As far as a multicaliber suppressor, you can either try submitting a form with the multi caliber request and stipulate having different sized endcaps or something or submit a form for the largest caliber you need and simply use the same suppressor on smaller caliber rifles.
Could someone theoretically build an SBR with a barrel shorter than 16” for example a 10.5” standard barrel and then pin and weld a 5.5” suppressor tube to the end such that they do with the flash breaks which are only usually a few inches long that when pinned and welded are considered part of the barrel length and then the small cap up top is the only thing that screws off and all the spacers and baffles can just fall out the end? Just curious if you could then consider it as part of the rifle barrel (that is now at or slightly more than 16”) and not even need to register it as a suppressor?
Unfortunately I am pretty sure you would still need to get all the paperwork done. It is the same concept as buying an integrally suppressed AR or pistol, they still require a tax stamp.
If you have a suppressor and end up in contact with local law enforcement somehow will they require you to have some sort of paperwork on hand? If not on hand has anyone ever had to produce it in court or something? I guess I'm asking what is the reality of enforcement. I know they want us to think it is strictly enforced - but is it?
No need. All you need is to coat in and out of each piece with regular old gun grease then run each piece one by one with the grease on them under a tap of running water picking up beads of water and put it all back together just like that! You'll be shocked at how much less noise comes out of the thing!
Well first it's only illegal to make a suppressor if you tell everybody you're making a suppressor and it's also illegal to have a suppressor that you made only if you tell everybody that you have one that you made in other words do whatever you want you have the right it's your freedom just don't advertise it.
Constitution doesn't say anything about a tax stamp or how big your weapon can be how small your weapon could be how long it can be how short it can be therefore it's just the money game but you're doing it the legal way they're making your videos and telling everybody stay legal I get it that's fine That's good I would too no I'm not doing anything illegal but if I wanted one I'd build one just wouldn't say nothing that's all.
The application is usually in a .pdf format and selected parts of the application will have "zones" where the program you are using to either fill out/open/print the application allows you to sign it "electronically." Depending on your program, Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat and a multitude of other programs will let you use your mouse like it's a pen so you can sign it, or the application will say something like "By printing my full legal name here, I am signing this blah blah blah" or something similar and all you have to do is type your name.
Correct, just go online (or do paper) to the atf website and file a form 1 application to make and register a firearm. Fill in all the appropriate information, pay your 200 for the stamp, wait for approval and then have at it. I should mention part of the application is going down to the sheriff's dept and having your fingerprints done then sending them separately to the atf.
Who really cares? Your an American and can do as you please as long as you don’t injure another person who hasn’t injured you! It’s a simple concept, the constitution of the United States!we need to get rid of the lawmakers that can’t read! doesn’t matter to me I’ll do as I please regardless of what some dumass in D.C says don’t care! Piff piff!
@@dannyworsham7705 in theory, you are right. In practice, build one without ATF paperwork and you go to jail. That is assuming you survive the raid and arrest.
It used to be a 6 month process where the FBI was supposed to check you out. Why NICS isn't involved in the process is a mystery. Can't put hearing protection on a firearm instantly, is my guess.
From my understanding you don’t have to get a tax stamp, the only thing you need the tax stamp for is if you are buying one, not if you are building one
Reason for a suppressor? Um because I'm a law abiding American, it's my right and it's my second amendment right in our free country. Also because I can.
And I thought you were going to show us how to build a suppressor you showed us some parts and pieces and said what you did with some holes and this and that and most of your video was showing everybody a tax stamp form but anyways good thing it was only 4 minutes and 53 seconds.
Idk why people are like you need paper work. But you shouldn’t have to worry about the government as long as you aren’t making them and distributing them
That response has been tried. Those people are in jail or dead. This legal process has been in effect since 1934. We may not like it but unfortunately that is how it works now. Do what you want but don't be surprised when they come to visit you.
Not sure it's available anymore, I think I found the tube on ebay and the inside on aliexpress or something. But I think if you search solvent trap tube on google there are companies selling all the parts, just make sure you have an approved form 1 before you buy just in case.
it's already tyrannical that you gotta do paperwork, let alone FINGERPRINT and paperwork. paperwork is whatever but I ain't doin fingerprint bullshit id sooner not have any suppressor really. it's a shame...
The paperwork is the difficult part. If you don't already know how to assemble a form 1 suppressor, you probably shouldn't be doing this in the first place.
I live in the state of Indiana and my friend's dad is a gun Smith and said hed file down my firing pens to make it full auto and make me a silencer crazy shit man for free even
