We're building Mega Hurtz' car from LEGO Stunt Rally! I really like to build stuff from these older games. As a child I never quite knew how to build them. Also having the right pieces in the correct colours was always a struggle. With this serie I hope I can make it easier for everybody to make their favourite LEGO creations to scratch that nostalgia itch. Unfortunately I cannot make videos about all the of cars. Some of them use pieces that simply don't exist in real life. But I'll do as many as I can. 😁
I had a blast rebuilding the garage from the game. You think you remember exactly how something looked when spending so much time there. But I never noticed the purple hoses for example. So it was kind of like replaying the game for the first time. Designing the UI (user interface) was a bit of a challenge. This game originally came in a 4:3 ratio. My video's are mostly 16:9, so that meant updating all the visuals to the modern times. I also changed some icons, to be made out of actually LEGO. I hope you'll notice them.
Mega Hurtz is an amazing character. I really like the look of him. It was actually quite difficult to make him not scary looking. The angry looking red eyes made him very similar to Terminator in LEGO form. I remember reading in the included manual of the game, that Mega Hurtz wants to use the price money from Stunt Rally to rebuild himself to be more human. I kind of felt bad for him. So I did my best as a child to make him win a couple races so he can win a bit of price money. 😅
Mega Hurtz has very strange arms. It looks like the developers used those arm clips (4735) instead of normal arms. But when you take a closer look, it seems to look like normal arms with a few extra bits added on top to make it look like robot arms. So I did something similar.
This build was quite tricky to get right. It uses quite a few pieces that don't exist in the right colour. There are some renders from the developer the show that this would have yellow wheels. So we've added that detail too. It's good to know that this is not a very sturdy build. This will be more of a display model, rather than a play model. A very good suggestion would be to use piece 2444 for the wheel connection. It doesn't exist in dark gray. But it does exist in light gray. That improves the sturdiness. You probably noticed that the windscreen is not connected to a hinge piece. It is now connected to the studs at the bottom. But if you want to make the connection, you can add piece 4315 in black or light gray.
