How to Light Your Christmas Tree the EASY WAY

Just used this method. Amazing, totally reduces the complexity of the task. I have two very long strings of lights, so I divided into vertical quarters instead of thirds to ensure half of the lights went on one side, and the other half on the other. Worked perfectly. 10/10, this changed my life.

I already knew how to hang lights on a tree, but I was looking for a different menthod and I have to say that this method is FANTASTIC! I never thought to divide the tree in sections. This makes it much easier than my method of going around the entire tree. The clean up will be a breeze as well. THANK YOU!!

Oh man ... that is the one thing I dread about setting up my tree. I've done the old fashion way of looping around and around the tree. Now, I am going to try this. Genius ... or perhaps - you may want to come for a visit and do my tree ... LOL

I tried this last year and it went so much faster. It’s also way easier to take them off the tree.

Hello. If I may ask a question. For trees that are to be placed in the corner....can I get away with just stringing 2/3 of the tree? Will it look like I took a short cut? Thanks.

I always add a few strands of twinkle lights mixed in with the standard lights. How can I incorporate them on my tree using this method? Normally I would do every third set of lights going around the tree.

Sounds easy enough if you have a fresh cut, real tree. Doesn't work if you have an artifical tree that comes apart in sections. Bummer.

Think you find that for a silver tree you need lights that have silver electric wires, dark green tree, dark green wires. This looks messy so for now will stick to going around the tree, it is not rocket science, all the best.

That is probably the worst Methode ever, all I can see are the wires 😳

I love tons of lights on my tree, can’t wait to try your method. I aim for around 700 led lights for my 7 foot tree. The good thing about led lights is they don’t produce heat and don’t use much electricity which is great as I have my lights on all the time except if I leave the house.

I'm totally going to have to try this way this year. Putting on the lights drive me nuts. Last year there was a point I questioned if we REALLY needed lights on the tree.

Came back to say this works!! I have been doing it by going around the tree for as long as I can remember. I always ended up stressed out after messing with it for a long time, and I dreaded it every year. I just tried it this way and was done in less than an hour! I have a 10 ft. tree, did this over 15 years ago. I bought the best lights I could; wound up light around the branches, zip tied strings to branches: put the Christmas tree away with the lights on. My lights have been on for 15 years. The only thing I change out is dim or burned bulbs. Also, I got a tree gun bulb tester $6 , best thing I ever bought!!!!!! If a string goes out it can reset the whole light string to work or find the bulb that has a wire broke off, causing the string to go out. Great video!!!👍🏻👍🏻

This was very helpful, thank you. My wife found this video when we were setting up our tree and I was able to get the lights on with using fewer strings of lights. The garlands went up quicker as well.

I still don’t understand. When I go around the tree with lights, they aren’t plugged in. Therefore I don’t have a good visual of how they look on the tree. I'm a first time home buyer, and this is our first Christmas is our new place. Obviously I needed a big and real tree. I spent a solid hour fighting with the first branches on the bottom, trying to go alllllll the way around the tree. This advice literally saved me hours of frustration and my tree look amazing. 10/10 recommend lighting your tree this way!

I did it this way for the first time... yes, it was easier to get them on, but they are in the way for beads and ribbon. What am I doing wrong? I am absolutely frustrated with everything else now!

this looks confusing. It's being applied on a white tree, too fast and jittery please try this slower on a green tree.

I was at Christmas store today and they sell lights on white cord so if you have a white Christmas tree use white cord lights

Yeah I tried this and it was if i'm honest a disaster.. Trust me.. start from the top and just layer your way down it takes no time whatsoever.. the wires get sooooo tangled with this method it becomes a huge mess

Love your video. Just a suggestion to start the 1st third section from the top so that your last 3rd section ends at the bottom where your outlets are.
