U can grab a potato, cut it in half and rub the exposed part in your armpit. rub until the potato is dark and let your armpit sit. Take a shower and rinse it off! also works for black necks too. (not shaming anyone) I did not make this life hack up. Shout out to 5 minute crafts they showed this in one of their videos. also great vid! 😊
My friend has been using sunflower oil on her armpits daily and she said they got much lighter than they've ever been. I've been using it on my bikini area and I'm noticing that it's lightening up as well. You're right. exfoliating is important.
Ashhley Baez it's a brand called Human Nature from the Philippines but I'm sure any sunflower oil (maybe from whole foods or some place like that) will work. That brand just makes a bunch of organic things. :)
Listen.....girl your camera and editing skills are so fucking fire like this shit is clearer than my tv. My eyes had to adjust to this bomb ass quality. I love your channel and keep doing your thing!!! ❤
2 Thumbs up to you for sharing this information with us. I know its very hard sometimes for us to share our flaws out in public but I really appreciate you sharing the tips and products you used to achieve this amazing outcome. I'm currently doing the same thing right now and I'm already seeing the results. I love your necklace and pendant as well, it really compliments you.
Jesus your hair takes 3 weeks to grow back after waxing? I tried waxing and mine grew back stubble in 2 days. Waxing isn't worth it for me 😂 your hair growth is slow girl!
I've never really thought about my dark armpits until recently. I've had them ever since I could remember, but they weren't a problem for me, but now idk why but it's really bothering me.
Same... For me, it's causey.bf pointed it out one day.. it never super bothered me. It did, but it didn't. And then he said something, and was like, is that cause of your coffee scrub? Cause he knows I use that, I lied and said yes... But it's made me very aware of them, and sometimes I don't wanna be intimate in the day time or with lights on where he might see..
You should try a mixture of coconut oil with baking soda as an exfoliant. Baking soda is a natural Lightener and the oil acts as a conditioner to prevent in grown hair. I would also recommend waxing or laser hair removal. Thinning out the hair or permanent removal lightens the area by preventing the hair root to show through the skin.
Hi! I just wanted to let you know you changed my life! Ever since I could remember I had dark underarms. I remember back in school I would always be self conscious, and I never ever wore muscle shirts or anything that showed underarms without a cardigan on top. When I would search on RU-vid for help, ALL of the ones I would watch were click bait or made by girls that didn’t even have dark underarms! I felt like it would never get fixed. I started doing your exact routine in January of this year, and my armpits now are only 1/2 a shade darker than my skin tone. Thank you so much, seriously! I can’t believe I don’t have to worry about raising my arms ever again. Thank you!!!!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
@@reenrafi7342 results def didn’t show in a week. I don’t have a specific timeframe, I just followed her method religiously and now I’ve been doing it for years and still do.
@@YOURLOVER261 hello, so I def stoped shaving. I did laser treatments and now when they do grow back I use wax. I use native deodorant and I exfoliate with exfoliating gloves using Dr. Bronners soap.
I started using the kojic acid every day and the spin brush every other day for about 2 weeks and i moisturize with a fragrance free lotion like cetaphil or panthenol and i stopped using deodrant i swear my underarm became 4 shades lighter. I shave just once a month while i go to my laser session. Thankyou so much for helping me!
New Subbie here, I just wanted you all (beginner shavers) to know that dark underarms is totally avoidable. 1. always shave your underarms last (the steam will open your pores and make the stubble stand straight up.) and on a consistent basis. 2. Shave them going in a downward direction only. 3. Use Jojoba oil before deodorant. 4. Make sure that your razor is always sharp. Never use a disposable razor more than once. These are the tips that my mom gave me on shaving when I was 12 and I have never had an ingrown hair or any hyper pigmentation even though I'm Black and prone to both. Good luck!
X'O Twod It's not necessary to get that close of a shave. If you have hair that grows in both directions, waxing your underarms after a trim is your best bet.
My dark underarms are my biggest insecurity! It just looks dirty when in reality it's not. I actually have that same kojie soap for dark spots on my face and I swear by it! Just recently stared using it for my armpits but haven't been consistent and haven't used a spin brush. Going to buy a new brush for my clarisonic and use it specifically for my armpits. Gotta get them ready for the summer! This video was helpful. Thank you for this
Women suffer these things period. I personally think it's because of some of these "hygiene" practices. razors makes cuts on your skin and scars it up, even if you don't see it, using these hygiene products with so many unhealthy chemicals it in it fucks up our skin(they do this to make us buy more products lol. they know that if we found out we only need a few products to take care of our bodies that would mean less money for they overall) it's even in pads and tampons and our food and shit. they poison us just enough to not be dead immediately, so they can take advantage of our half to barely functioning minds.
I agree, it is definitely more of a problem with WOC, there's very few white girls who discoloration in these places. Some do, but a lot of times it's just in there thighs or me neck if they are overweight due to friction. But it's not naturally as much of an issue there
When i was about 5 or 6, I saw my mom using a Deodorant so as an innocent curious child, I also put some on my armpit. My mom was furious. it burned my armpit and it became super dark. 😭 I've been insecure about it since.
I can't thank you enough! my armpit discoloration is a huge insecurity of mine. I'm half French and my skin is practically translucent from being so pale and my hair grows abnormally fast. therefore my underarms look darker like I haven't shaved. you're a life saver ❤❤❤
I definitely think deodorants contribute to the dark armpits. I have been trying to avoid deodorants for a long time. I don't think it is healthy for your body. women with breast cancer are often advised not use them although they have not found any conclusive link. many of the natural deordants are ineffective. however look for the ones that say benefit demonstrated in clinical trial. I found one with tea tree oil and it works well but not easy to apply (woods body goods). I have also tried toms but I sweat a lot in the summer and I didn't want to stink at work.Take it easy on the armpits they look good. don't overdo it. funny I ended up with a reaction to the soft and dry.
I definitely agree. I cannot use Ban, Soft n Dri and clear deodorants they make my armpits very dark but with discontinued use the extreme darkness went away.
I use the exact same steps. I also use potato slices at night. For deodorant I use crystal rock. My underarms were a lot darker than yours and I'm an nc45. They are now even, if not maybe a bit lighter than the rest of my body.
CeeCee Harris use a thin slice and rub it for a few seconds. I leave it overnight and wash off during my morning shower. I also use koji, exfoliate with a spin brush (not this one), and crystal rock deodorant.
Liza Delyla I just told my mother about your post. She used to always say that her mom used to say (back in the 40s 50s) that people with arm pit stink used or should use an "Irish potato" underneath their arms. smh Alllll this time I thought she was crazy for coming up with this but here you are in 2017 on the innanets talking about it. 😂😂😂😂😂wow!
can't thank you enough for comming out here and showing us one on your insecurities to help us solve an issue we share and also that amazing discount. I've wanted to buy an exfoliation brush for years and I just bought one. lots of love your way keep making videos 💕💕
Denise Shantyle yes but it takes time tho I use it everywhere it's really good and safe for the skin and face even great as a shampoo makes it smooths and even skin tone I just use a rag to clean with but I do use a spin brush on my face
I recently started using the Arm & Hammer Essentials Deodorant in the scent "Fresh." It is aluminum free and paraben free. I haven't experienced any irritation, dryness, or under-arm odor since using it. This is a wonderful deodorant to use if you're searching for a cheap (~$2/stick), natural alternative. It also has a nice, neutral scent.

I have very dark underarms. I've started using Kojie soap twice a day for 5 minutes for underarm. I exfoliate with body exfoliator from body shop (not a brush) but might try the brush. For night time I then use cocoa butter with vitamin E to moisturise my underarm. Then for deodorant I use natural deodorant from Holland and barrett called salt of the earth. I'll try to come back to this comment with updates. Update: kojic soap didnt work I think made worse!
Kojie San is very popular here in the Philippines . We can buy it over the counter. It's really effective but easily to dissolved in water because of the ingredient - glycerin. 4 years of using kojie san soap and cream. My arm pit is really light and smooth .
Loved your video... I always suffered with dark underarms and of course growing up with all brothers they will always make fun of me about it.... I'm the type of girl that loves summer time and dresses and sleeveless tops I'm just always extra careful not to lift my arms when I wear the clothes that I love. And trust me I've tried all types of ways to lighten them but nothing really worked. I'm gonna try out your routine. I also just bought that exfoliating brush you have. I'm so glad the code still worked :)
Try lime juice it will lighten the skin and act as deodorant ! It worked for my daughter . Deodorant has too many chemicals that stay on the skin and mix with normal bacteria hence the dark underarms.
Thanks for the tip girl! I also stopped using deodorants that are not all natural. You should try the Schmidt's and the bergamot lime is my favorite! Definitely worth trying.
Even though I don't suffer from anything dark on my skin, these were some good tips. l definitely learnt from this. l am gonna start to use aluminum free deodorants because now and then my arms are sensitive depending on the deodorant that l am using at the time, and ofcourse I don't want darkened armpits. Prevention is better than cure! Thanks for sharing!
Do you use the same process to lighten your knees? My knees have been an insecurity of mine since I was a kid to the point where I haven't worn shorts or dresses in a decade because I hate my knees
literally agree with you about waxing. But I'm now living in Africa particularly Cameroon and it not easy to get waxing so I'm using lemon to highlight those part. So it my naturally method. And I wanted to share it with you and other girls. 💛💙💚
Hey! another alternative to waxing is epilating (you can buy a good one for like $30 and you just use batteries or a plug). I have never waxed but just epilating instead of shaving made my pits so much lighter after 2 or 3 times
Lush has a natural deodorant called aromaco. I have only used it for two days I made the switch because I get blackheads and clogged pores but so far this has been working I was nervous of it wearing off at the gym but it didn't. hope this recommendation helps
Thank you for this tip. I can't stand my dark underarms. As for the soap, you can do what my mother and i do. Cut up the orange soap into smaller pieces to fit into empty bottle, add 3 or 4 pieces to an old soap bottle and add hot water. This helps melt the soap and turns into liquid and lasts longer. Let it sit overnight and viola !!!!!!!! As you know this soap is very soapy so you don't need a bunch of pieces. If the bottle is 11oz or smaller, just add 2, 12oz & up add 3 or more. This has last us for a very long time
Kojie San is VERY popular here in the Philippines. It really works! Whitens your skin (it can be used on your face but wear sunscreen & dont stay under the sun) and dries out pimples. It is a really really nice product tho u need to moisturize right after since it can be drying
I use Native natural deodorant which is also aluminum free. I buy it online. My dark underarms started AFTER I started using this deodorant. Also, Dr. Bronner's castille soap is amazing! I use the peppermint scented. Thank you for this video.
TeeMa J I just started using Native too and noticed this week! Not sure if I want to continue but it’s the best natural deodorant I’ve found that works.
Great information! This is very helpful. I have used all the other brushes on my spin brush except for the body brush. I am definitely giving it a try now. My grandmother used this remedy to lighten her elbows. Cut a lemon in half, squeeze out a little juice to make it like a small cup and scrub each half on your elbows(can also he used for knees) Do not rinse just moisturize with vaseline.Lemons have bleaching and exfoliating properties. Afterwards keep areas away from direct sunlight.
@@englishwithaltini It definitely did get lighter. I'm doing it for more than a month now. The difference is not like in the video but at least there's progress. I will still continue doing it. 😁
A great natural deodorant you can use and might love , try CRYSTAL body deodorant, it's literally a crystal stone 💎, and you rub it on - girl trust me you will loooooooove !' They have it at Walmart, Walgreens , Publix
I'm allergic to aluminum, so I've tried out many different aluminum-free and natural deodorants. My favorite by far is Tom's of Maine, as it at least feels like it helps with sweating, and not just will odor. I'm also pretty sure it's natural. The deodorants that are like crystals that you roll on are sort of annoying and don't help with sweating at all. But obviously, to each her own!
I'm glad you've got such great results. However I've been trying lemon and sugar and haven't got much of an improvement and have been looking to get the koji soap. I'm living in the Uk and for some reason the koji soap can't be shipped here. I've heard about it from last year and every time I check online it says it can't be shipped to the UK. Could you buy some and sell it to your subscribers overseas please. If be the first to buy it.
MonShan Thoms I use koji soap, for my underarms cuz i had black arms because i scratched it too much and it became black but when i used kojic it made my skin very bery light oj the undersrm area, Im from aus that lives in Philippines and kojic soap is everywhere here:)
Try adding turmeric. I do a tumeric, honey and lemon juice mix. I exfoliate under my arms then apply the mix leaving it on for 15-20 minutes then exfoliate again (gentler). I do it 2-3 times per week and it's helping a lot. I'm gonna start incorporating her tips too. Hope it helps !!
Also, i sweat really bad under my arms that's why i use degree and mitchum womens deodorants. Its so sad I stay away from bright tops because of this. I just put panty liners on the armpit area of the shirt to catch my sweat so it wont leave a stain, unfortunately
There are prescription deodorants that can stop the sweating if you apply it once or twice a week right before bedtime. It totally works, stops the sweat and when you don't sweat at all, you don't even need deodorant every day and can wear more than just white and black shirts :). You probably have what is called hyperhidrosis, look it up if you haven't heard of it. One of the deodorants is called drysol if I'm not mistaken but you have to see your doc so he/she can write a prescription(which takes a minute tops)
Hi. I was on amazon checking out the products you used in this video. A whitening cream came up while I was searching so I clicked on it and OMG, someone used your pictures from this video to show how the cream works. The person used the name Mallory Grisom. Thought you should know. Btw this video was very helpful.
I've never waxed but shaving with coconut oil and using an electronic shaver changed my life! I need to exfoliate more maybe as I only do so once a week. Great tip on using the spin brush will definitely be incorporating it into my routine for that use now .
Thanks for your video! I bought the Vanity brush and switched to the Soft & Dri deodorant and exfoliated regularly and my underarms are back to normal! I am soo happy! :) I was soo insecure about the way they looked. It did take a while but well worth it! Thanks again ! :)
Mine lightened a lot after using ( lemon, cucumber, potato juice) then put it into a fridge because lemons when they are cold they won't burn your armpits. And I use a moisturizer for sensitive skin ( no perfume in it) works Amaizing. You HAVE to moisturize everyDay Especially after a shower because your pores will open up. I also used wax sheets and they removed a lot of dead skin. It took me 2 months and it lightened a lot but it's still has some darkness to it. Mabey if I continued on that for a good 6 months it will disappear :) ( just an advice)
I don't know if anyone shared already but Target, Whole Foods & the Vitamin Shoppe sells the Dr. Bronner soap. I also get them from the Thrive Market online. I LOVE them!! Thanks for sharing your tips! I'm going to try some of them starting this week 👍👍
Great video! I ordered that skin lightening soap for my son Bc it was recommended by another RU-vidr so I'm excited to see what it does for him. Going to try the natural soap as well. Thank! Very informative!
Great tips! The only thing I would recommend is try lasering. Waxing was a good alternative to shaving, but lasering my underarms changed my life. I struggled with hairy pits and wax appointments were happening too soon, but since I got laser I have shaved in over a year! It's amazing and SO worth the money. It does not hurt that much and you will save money in the long run. Also waxing makes the pores bigger cause you are ripping the hair out. I noticed that even tho I was hair free the pores were big and not looking cute. So try looking into waxing! Also I know ppl who rub lemon on their underarms for like 5 mins, wait then wash it, and it works!
Thank you for taking time to share this with details and the places you get the items for. Also you are beautiful inside and out. I say this because you take the time to care for others.
Great video! I use Tom's tea tree natural deodorant! it's definitely my staple 😊. Have you tried sugaring as opposed to waxing yet? I remember initially asking that last year?
Yay!!! im so glad you enjoyed it....i know for sure that its going to play a great part in your lighting regimen as sugar is a great exfoliate without irritation 😉
I have darker inner thighs, could I use the bar soap to lighten them up? I’ve been looking for products and I’m currently trying palmers fade milk. I came across your video and it’s giving me so much hope❤️
I love the top you're wearing in this video ! Do you remember where you got it from? (: Also thanks a lot for the tips on lightening the armpits, ive been not shaving and using nair instead to keep from having razor burn and that "5 o'clock shadow effect". But these tips seems to be more effective !! (:
Love love love this video. These are the topics I search for constantly...the things people are too embarassed about but we aren't alone! I've been researching on many different ways to have the same results. but now I know which way really does work! Thanks girl!!!
I love your hair and you inspired me to go natural and embrace my natural hair and come to find my hair is flourishing and is very healthy thank you again
Awesome tips. I think African American women have this problem. I will start this process with my daughter so that she won't go through what I and my sisters did. Thank you!
I've noticed over mane the last year that my elbows have gotten darker and rougher. I'm associating it to my work chair and always baring down on the chair arms with my elbows. I usually wear a sweater bc my office is often cold, but I need to focus on softening and lightening them.
I did this and the result was instant 10shades lighter just from exfoliating!will look for the soap and deo to compliment the results.thanks gal for the tip.
OH MY I knew it was that soap when I saw you applying it on the spin brush! That's actually a very famous soap in PH *o* I never knew how effective that is until I saw this vid! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and tips you don't know how much life you've saved because of your genuine contents and i love and appreciate you for that girl
Great Natural deodorant... try Green Beaver. I just started using it. They come in a few different scents. I get my stash from well.ca, but I'm sure you can find it in stores. I've been using different brand natural deodorants for 7+ years and this brand is in the very top of my list. The scent is not over powering and complements any fragrances you use. They also have a non scented type. Edit to add: the Green Beaver Company is Canadian too! Sorry if this "review" sounds like a paid endorsement. I'm a marketer so sometimes I come off like that. I have no affiliation to the company. The stuff just works!
My armpits are so irritating and it hurts, I was scrubbing them with a harsh scrub use to wash dishes, I had also put some baking powder mix with lemon on my armpits to make them lighter but instead, they are now even darker and very irritated, what have I done!😳🥺😔
I use the same soap, it's active ingredient is kojic acid and we love it hear back home. I buy the scraps/cutoffs from the manufacturer at about 4$ a kilo. Also for natural deo, I put about 4 tablets of vitamin c and add a thumb size amount of pure aloe vera to that, let it sit. It'll become lotion-y in consistency and that's what I use as a deo; it alse exfoliates lightly and has actually lightened my underarms quite a bit (mine looked the same as your before). I love your delivery, btw, not scarily cheery. New subbie!
Lol! I totally can relate to the shaving problems, where you shave today, close your eyes and by tomorrow it's back! So annoying and also just painful. I will look more into the sugaring and waxing. I tried a sugar wax before, it wasn't too bad, but one thing I know, I'm over shaving my armpits (been over it!!)
I've had the same problem for as long as I can remember. I will start doing this for sure! Thank you so much for the tips. What moisturizer/lotion do you use?
