Don't feel too bad dude. He thinks he's good at comedy, but he sucks. Excellent at mma, podcasting, commentary, etc. However, he does suck at standup comedy. So you can't be great at everything you do. The point is to strive for greatness.
Bro this is exactly what i’ve been sayin when it comes to mental health. Humanity is so far away from “the way” right now, we’re giving in to the weak human desires and not fulfilling our potential through trial. It’s no coincidence depression and anxiety are on the rise.
Lately I believe there is a strong silent majority. I think humanity as a whole has always had the.... Modern day liberals dare I say. They're just able to be very effective at this time in history. Keep fighting. Stay dilligent. Trust in God
I am Japanese and I am impressed by your knowledge of Miyamoto Musashi Because Miyamoto Musashi was considered one of the most powerful samurai in Japan a very great warrior and a legendary warrior Who wield two swords at the same time and Who was the founding master from The art of the ambidextrous to the Katana
@@fixer1140 warrior in the soul, soul=spirit, spirit= mind=control of his own mind and the wisdom of a warrior. miyamoto musashi, said that a great master, with a wisdom to always keep his Katana in his saya Meaning is that a great force must have its own responsibility, control and wisdom. Just read the book is better because knowledge is everything in this world and Because it's Man had knowledge that nobody else have in this world, because there is a big difference between being a warrior and a warrior in spirit.
I bought a copy of that book around the same time as Joe did. It was probably on the discount table at a chain bookstore. I'm not surprised that Joe has read it.
Yo where can I read it? (Online preferably) and is this a book, light novel or manga? Idk if I'm wrong but think I've heard of a manga called vagabond but might not be related at all
@@NinjaSushi2 Missing out, bro. In my opinion. But may not hold up in terms of today's ingenuity. Still a very unique and satisfying puzzle-solving element only found in that game, to my knowledge.
"Once you understand the way broadly, you can see it in all things" Absolutely agreed, I realised a similar thing few months ago.... Once you have a broader understanding of what you want to be, you start seeing "steps" to reach your goal, and you are able to find steps in "everything" and "anything" that you do. Even if it's something that doesn't have anything to do with your goal, but you will be able to see steps in that too.
Id say its more achievement of capacity recognising through the principal and the deep core on one thing. And then throughout that principle that you achieved from your one thing, you can apply on almost everything else and it becomes easier because that principle connects every other fields together simply.
Musashi was once challenged to duel on a small island. On the boat ride, he decided he'd distract his opponent with complete disrespect. So he told the ferry man to make him late, and asked to borrow the extra oar. As they traveled on, Musashi began carving it into the shape of a sword. When they finally arrived, his opponent was furious. Musashi was not only late, but it appeared he'd even forgotten his sword. Infuriated by such disrespect, he was distracted, and unable to fight at his fullest potential. It was then, that Musashi began beating him to death with a broken boat oar.... This very scene is depicted in Masashi's famous statue. I recommend admiring it for a few.
Musashi’s opponent, Kojiro, was purportedly armed with an nodachi, a sword that’s usually longer than a standard katana, so Musashi made that oar sword extra long to give him a reach advantage
imagine at 13 he defeated an adult samurai without using a katana 💀💀 just a huge wooden rod and kills him by destroying his head like damn.. and it was his first actual fight
Dude... Whoever edited this, you did an incredible job with all those samurai mangas blend in! I felt a rush thinking back at reading those when I was a teenager. Thanks 👍
The reason his quote is so profound is because he was a master of all kinds of weaponry and horseback combat. He was a master of dual samurai swords as well.
The Musashi novel is absolutely amazing and the English audiobook is even better. But we are not so much familiar with the real Musashi and more familiar with the legends of him.
Great book. "Go Rin No Sho", the Book of 5 Rings is overlooked. Most people have heard of Sun Tzu but not enough know about that book. Good read and definitely has life lessons that are applicable today.
You're right Joe the sad part is most Americans these days don't like hearing the truth that is them that has the problem that it's them that has the struggle that is them that has a setback on trying to become something better so that's what they get stuck on and why they never become something better you have overseen and became something better because you saw that at a young age apparently
'If you know the way broadly you will see it in everything.' ~Miyamoto Musashi "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it." ~Jesus of Nazareth
"Do Nothing You Will Regret.” Musashi inspired me in ways I can’t describe. Thanks to Joe for raising awareness about Musashi... his philosophy inspired so much that I now dedicate my channel to his teachings ⚔🔥🔥
you can see in it all things, for it becomes your life. such understanding is a relationship, in finding that your dream relates to everything that you could see. it is such relating by which all things exist, for they relate to each other. it is ultimately who you are or what you live for. your dream, it has to do with everything. otherwise there is conspiracy to redo with anything.
Just incase some people wonder and don't know who Miyamoto Musashi is, he is known as the strongest and best samurai there ever was and the strongest person in Japan who ever lived.
This is the truth if you will receive it. My son was Musashi and he remembers it. Very scary person. Honestly this is actually true: I craved the hell out of sushi while I was pregnant with him and had to have it every day. Do not take Musashi lightly
If you're not joking then I'm very sad that your son has to live with your delusion that you push onto him. People have to realise that not every thought they have is true, but this goes quite far.
The book of 5 rings is a fantastic book. I've been enamored with Musashi for 2 decades. The way he dueled challengers was so smart, he'd show up late or talk shit about the person just anything he could do to get inside his opponents head. Dude was light years ahead of most in the art of battle
I read a 1000+ page historical fiction about Musashi based off the actual duels and battles he fought in. One of the greatest swordsman who ever lived. Guy was absolutely ruthless.
Star Wars Jedi ironically has a similar theme as well, how trials make you stronger and helping someone is actually taking away their opportunity for growth and harming them
Learned about Miyamoto Musashi as a kid, oddly enough through an Iron Maiden song called “Sun and Steel”. Incredible human / warrior. Unbelievable stuff.
"Once you understand the way, broadly, you can see it in all things". To me it is the art of systematically mastering difficult things. The way of constantly beginning anew, discipline after discipline, again and again. Learning to be comfortable in becoming a beginner, a novice, over and over again. Reliving the steps to mastership and realising that life's challenges can be navigated by this art of self development. Once you've realised those patterns of development, an entire horizon of possibilities becomes apparent. And we can all attain it, so long as we're prepared to make the leap from master to student again. Fantastic excerpt from Joe on Musashi.
Miyamoto Musashi was a master of the way of the water. Of all samurais written down in history he was my favorite. Simply by the way he handled himself on the battlefield
Most of, if not all, of Musashi's stories are either fake or highly controversal at best. Ranging from the island that's claimed to be he won a duel in being named with his dueling partner's name, all the way to the descendants of a samurai family that he claimed to have eliminated still living and thriving today. People still hold him up in holy light basically because of the marketing, both then and now. Joe doesn't have a tattoo of a great warrior, he has one of a great conman.
My favorite quote in the book of five rings is “ do not collect weapons and do not train with weapons that are of no use” that quote is why I sold my swords and bought ammo
These few words about Myamoto Musashi especially the quote is a "GAME CHANGER" Simple but profound and to the point. Words matter...they CAN encourage or discourage. Nice 1 Joe.... POWERFUL ! 👍🇨🇦
