Make sure 2 have mattress bags, make sure that all lawn mowers are empty and don't have gas in them, make sure all items are wrapped, and make sure you have someone loading who knows how to load
I don't understand why so many comments saying load the mattresses last. I almost never loaded them last. A seasoned mover/loader does not need them to tie off the load at the end. There are several items that can be used to wall the tier off for strapping down. I like to use them with large glass pieces or mirrors in between the mattresses, and that could be anywhere in the load
I have lived in japan for 35 years and i have never seen people more careful, especially with other people's property. In the west when we want to do something we get to doing it, in Japan when they want to do a task, first they sit and think. And maybe they will think for 2 hours until they come up with the best and safest solution. And if they believe it is too risky they will tell you that they can't do it. When i moved houses, the people who came to do the moving for me, brought countless boxes and bubble wrap and cotton and foam, and they moved an entire house in half a day from start to finish and didn't damage one thing, not the things to move not the wall, not the stairs. First they covered everything in blankets and the walls with thick mats. Then they all removed their shoes. No mover in japan enters your house with shoes on, they do it all in socks. Oh and they also clean your old house after they are done and bring all the boxes with them after putting everything in the place or the room you wish. So in half a day my old house was spotless and empty and my new house was liveable because they had rebuilt the beds, plugged all the things, from TV to computers, to washing machine, dish washer, internet connection etc. All we had to do was sit at the table order in food, and eat and then make the beds and go to sleep after taking a shower. We didn't even break a sweat. It was like we hadn't moved. They also do everything without saying a word as to not disturb the neighbours. Not one country in the world does that.
I'm moving no ones house without shoes on. I don't know about Japan but in the states workman's Comp. will not cover you if you are injured without safety shoes. God forbid if drop a couch or some heavy item on your foot. It does happen sometimes regardless how safe and careful you might be.
Moving in Japan is mostly studio apartments, 2-4k lb moves. Not being sarcastic, I'd love to see how they handle a 25k pack and load out of an American McMansion. Probably wouldn't be too dissimilar from Budd, Joyce, JK, or any of the top Unigroup, SIRVA, or Atlas drivers. No shoes is a serious safety liability when you have gun safes, pianos, armoires, large wine coolers, etc coming down from upstairs. I love how Japanese movers work; lots of site protection, hump straps, and recyclable packing/padding materials. Those furniture socks are ace. I'd love to see a comparison of moving techniques and procedures worldwide, and how they could cross over to different countries' typical types of homes.
The heaviest doesn't mean the sturdiest. The heaviest can be the most fragile and things should be loaded based on how breakable they are, not based on weight. Also never turn a box sideways. Always stack boxes in the direction they were filled.
Stack mattresses on dressers or boxes to lock in attic. U put boxes on top of the mattresses. Rookie move beds are flemsy and will cause ur load to shift.
Hey man it's about at least trying to be respectful and professional even if not necessary, it looks better than showing how much you dont care about the job
I been doing moving since 1997 ,you don’t need to strap couches in the third tear,if the load is going to be full,it’s the 3 b’s of loading base boxes and bullshit,we also load room by room,so when we get to the unloading part everything comes of the truck in that order, I used to hate working with guys who need certain pieces to put in there load ,then when we get to the unload each tier is going everywhere,we usually carry 3 boxes on a humpstrap when it all gets mixed up your left carrying one box at a time because the whole load is mixed up
must be a local job. the attic was too loose, and ya' wanna start your straps a tier early so when they tighten, they shouldn't move. on the floor you should high/ low straps and mattress make a good tie off so everything square to the roof. run out of cartons and topfill, bunch pads/skins to tighten load. claims can negate profits from the job. UVL lumper, 10 years. Ü
Next, look around for stuff to steal, then tell the boss you kept your eyes on the other guys, he ll shake your hand pay him $200, you saved the company money.
That's strange, these guys don't use 2 or 4 wheelers??? WTF is with that??? Base, boxes, bins, top load!!! The video was just about on point. The mats & box springs can fail!! I've 27 yrs. experience!!! Do it right & you'll get good tips- usually! !!!
Lol, the title video should be something like “HOW NOT LOAD A TRUCK”, too many wrong things here, furniture is not properly wrapped, they forgot to put cardboard in front and sides of the China cabinet to protect glass, they forgot to say lawnmowers no gas in it, they forgot to pack mattresses and so, I’m sure that lady have never lifted a box in her life, all I see here is a bunch of GREEN HORNS😐😐😐
I've done a lot of Two Men and A Truck screw ups....please don't ever load a truck like that. All these people who start in these companies should start with the big boys like United , Mayflower, Apex, Atlas, Allied etc...
Used to work for this company; biggest fucking joke I’ve ever seen in my life. Everyone who was a mover, and I mean everyone was stoned al the time. Constantly trying to find the quickest way to do things regardless of safety, stealing whatever valuables they could get away with, taking smoke breaks every ten minutes.....it was unbelievable. I worked for the company when they used to be off of Pawnee street in San Marcos, CA. They’re turn over rate was so high they had this video playing on an endless loop in the lobby for the daily new recruits. Possibly the worst company you could choose to hire as movers.
I have been in the moving business for 40 years and this is the wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Way to load a truck. If you want to know the right way to load a truck as a professional. Thank you and have a nice day.
They laid a dishpack or could’ve been a 4.5 box on its side on top of furniture, those type of boxes can have liquids in them, now it’s gonna leak and spread, not a good video
It is also important to pronounce words correctly. The young lady speaking doesn't pronounce important correctly, she seems not to see the letter "t" in important. They
Just the sofa is good the rest is trash Always the mattress load at the end and the furniture need. blankets and the mattress need box Always I’m the owner/operator If my crew load the stuff like this I fire them
Seriously irritating voice by the script narrator. I would not pack my load like this. Thanks for your efforts, but not sure if I would use 2 boys and a truck for my move. Just watched the Stumpf Moving video before this one and it was made by a PROFESSIONAL mover.
Amateur hour!! Burn your all your chowder on deck? Then tjey load boxes and beds? Completely wrong!! Burn all OS, bulky and difficult items first! Then square tiers and mattresses last!! F n gorilla can stack boxes!! Disregard this entire video!!
i moved over 100 whites people in the last 8 months and got paid 300 per move so its false and i will keep getting paid and growning my business while cowards waste their time talking behind computers
