Can't wait for the pool testing!! :D nautilusspearfishing.com/sear... Want us to build you a custom roller speargun, email me andrew@nautilusspear.com www.nautilusspearfishing.com/
I personally had that same gun on my hand the other day when I visited the shop. The gun is way lighter than a roller gun, it feels fantastic, not to mention the power that it offers. I’m looking forward to get one of those. Nice video Andrew
Im glad you finally make this video... just received this MVD invert roller zeso recently and never had chance to try it so far... wish to convert it into carbon body... its just look so nice.,,
Would love to see a pool test/comparisson of the same setup but with enclosed track. I have a similar setup (MVD inverted, shorter barrel) and am very curious, if ET makes a difference.
WIth the right shaft ET will likely slow the shot a tiny bit compared to open track..... On a longer gun with thinner shaft ET can be beneficial but something like this set up no reason for it
Why is the line that leads from the rubber bands pulleys have to go thru the lateral hole in the roller head? What is the purpose of this?? Why not just have a simple single pulley between the lower bands with a line running from the (central) pulley pivot bolt directly to the roller head? I am trying to "simplify" my MVD 90 carbon inverted roller that came with 16mm bands. Interesting that you chose to work with 14mm bands. Mine came from the factory with zero pre-load, so am trying to set up 17lb pre-load at the muzzle for each or 3 band pairs. Any suggestions, much appreciated
Pros are that the reciprocating mass of the bands accelerate at half the speed causing less recoil. The cons are it takes twice the band to get the same power. With a good setup, you'll see good power and less muzzle rise and less perceived recoil. Personally, I believe that this is a great platform for thicker slower rubber with more power.
hey Andrew, i was wondering why you chose to use 14mm bands and if stretchier bands like the green salvimar ones would be a better option instead of regular american latex like the neptonics bands?
Was a pain with these bands as they stretch to 400% or so.... the gun is a 105cm and we used 8" 14mm bands just about right. I would do 1-2" every 10cm based on the bands you are using
I have an idea for you... When you pool test this gun... compare with roller and traditional same length gun... so this will get more interesting and people will get to know more about it...
@@NautilusSpearfishing Thanks for the reply. When you do the pool testing if you can please let us know how tracking feels, and how it feels to aim with just the spear. Also your personal opinion on accuracy and how recoil compares with other guns would be awesome.
Use the side line guides for your wrap instead of the middle ones the groove is only for one wrap.... you can also do a voodoo wrap. Let me know if you can't get it and we can throw up a video for you
You didn't mention that the pulleys half the load of the rubber, so a 3 rubber inverted pully/roller has the load of 1.5 rubbers. You Also loose energy from the rollers and pulleys.
