He obviously did it off camera but if you’re loading an excavator like this. Make sure you tuck the stick & bucket all the way so that it won’t hit any overpasses or anything like that.

Would having a checklist to review help someone remember the step to use a height stick? What about something in the cab of the truck or on the equipment? How do you remember to check the height of your load?

Is it best to have the drive gear facing backwards?
@arnoldromppai5395

i use to love loading the huge rubber tire scarifying machines, huge balloon tires and chains, 3 inches of each tire would only be on the float at any given time, and all you had was some young dodo driver, that was usless for any help. i use to load and unload the road building excavators, on an off the side, the floats the big paper mill wood lands had were over axle with step beaver tail, drop decks didnt come out until the mid 80's

When this Excavator Construction Tractor gets towed. The tower is the one who place the tractor on the flat bed or the construction worker?

U can keep the bucket close to the trailer while you're loading, about 2-3 inches, and the break over won't be as bad. Should probably clean your tracks off as well. But nicely done. Just my 2 cents is all.

The guy did a good job and looked at his surroundings and observed any potential hazards and didn’t need to go onto the trailer with the boom tucked in as nothing ahead, why make the job harder when you don’t need to? Also it doesn’t really matter what end the cogs are or if it’s backwards or forwards unless you don’t know how to drive a machine and wouldn’t make a difference with the weight. Also when he lowers the boom after loading it usually tucks in at the cab height so won’t be a problem going under any bridges. I’m sure if it was an abnormally huge machine then it would be measured and checked instead of just visually. Anyway everyone has to have their 2 cents 😂 good job, best way to learn is to practice!

I would normally drive up the ramps with the bucket tucked in and when I get to the camover point I stop crawling and extend the bucket and stick out, shifting the centre of gravity forward and set the machine onto the deck before crawling into position. I find it safer that way

Was wondering why you didn’t lower your boom and rest the bucket, so you could release the pressure in the system? Good video detailing the loading aspect though 👍

Hola. Necesito saber las medidas de las cadenas y de los trinquete, para el amarre de una Caterpillar 320. Gracias.
@ToddJeromeJenkins
@ToddJeromeJenkins 2 года назад
Si entiendo la pregunta, 4 cadenas de grado 70, 3/8" x 44" con ganchos Clevis de 5/16 pulgadas con hardware de montaje. Necesitaría cuatro puntos de empate independientes. Creo que este canal tiene un video. If I understand the question, 4 grade 70, 3/8" x 44" chains with 5/16 inch Clevis Hooks with mounting hardware. You would need four independent tiedown points. I think this channel has another great video on the requirements.

Fantastic! Thank you for the opportunity to get a Birdseye view and how you talked through the hazard analysis. Do you see a value in writing your hazard analysis down? Would a checklist help someone remember all the things to look for or is it more important that this skill set be memorized? I would recommend that everyone always use wheel chocks, preventing movement should have as many failsafe as possible. Movement during the loading process is a direct contributor to serious injuries and fatalities (SIF). Thanks again for being so safety-focused, great video!

Hill loading: if you have to load on a hill, Truck facing up hill or downhill and why?

Better to nose the truck downhill. This will decrease ramp angle.

It can depend on how tight your tracks are. I've seen loose tracks binding up on the cleats going up a float when driving up in reverse. It's usually best to go forwards so the bottom of the tracks are tight and the top is slack. It also makes the machine easier to control
@46rambo49

Trailers are fucking expensive but why not have a trailer that can carry u load without having it hang off the side 3,4 inches? Is the trailer already big enough for the road without having a permit to have wide load ?
