We used our side scan and down imaging to find and locate structure that was holding crappie . Once we located a likely spot we used Gamin Live -scope to get closer to the structure and vertical jig to catch crappie . We also cast lure to the same fish with some success .
Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Great information. Just started crappie fish. Don't have side scan or live scope but my Garmin has been awsome in finding crappie. Just got to figure out the color they want. God bless. Stay safe.

I would like to add that, a great many fishing channels just show people fishing but I appreciate your instructional aspect. I typically watch fishing channels to learn more tips and techniques than to just see people catching fish. I think it's beneficial to share your knowledge and your how to with everyone. I appreciate your testimony at the end. May the Lord bless you in the growth of your channel tight lines.

I agree with your statement you can only watch a person catch so many fish ? Sometimes i get in a zone of catching fish and forget to add into the video about what I'm doing . Keep working on your channel it takes a lot of time and effort to keep a channel going , it is a slow process .

My channel is very small but I've watched some other guys with large channels 100,000 subscribers or so commenting on how their views have diminished over the winter. It may be something to do with the economy and the the war overseas according to them. People are more tuned into the news than they are fishing channels. Hopefully with the warming weather people will start watching fishing videos more and everyone's fishing channels will grow. Keep up the good content and everything will be fine.

I've been seeing 50 degree water temps and getting into some crappie but not large ones.... there's a whole lot of 9 and smaller inchers and only a few nice eating sizes. I'm gonna start dropping marker bouys more often since the windy season is coming

Thanks for sharing your knowledge of crappie fishing. What time of year do the crappie on Kerr Lake spawn out and return to the brush piles? I want to plan a trip there in early May, if Lord willing.
@wildlifeadventures-13
@wildlifeadventures-13 2 года назад
Jeff, In my opinion, Black crappie will be moving up shallow around mid to lake March all the way thru the first of may ,White crappie spawn a little later April and May . I found fish back of covers shallow and I found them spawning in the middle of cover around brush that's 15' deep .

One of the reasons I show the live-scope footage is so everyone can see how fish are staged and how they react to lures this would dirrectly relate to your fishing as well , Like window shopping without buying .

Thanks for sharing! When you're vertical jigging you mentioned adding an additional split shot weight to get the 1/16 head down quickly. Is that a typical option or is using a larger head better? I've been trying a lot of vertical jigging this winter using mostly 1/16 oz heads and small plastic trailers. It's very difficult to get them down 20-40 ft even on 4 lb test line. It's doable but slow and if windy not really doable.
@wildlifeadventures-13
@wildlifeadventures-13 2 года назад
In my opinion> thy to keep your jig head weight as light as possible. The lighter it is the more natural the lure looks in the water . I use two jigs for extra weight sometimes but most times if its windy I put a big split shot 16"-18" up the line and use a 1/6oz jig head . I'll put out a video soon on some different options.
@ronniewetherington509
@ronniewetherington509 2 года назад
@@wildlifeadventures-13 ok. Thanks for the good info. Do you primarily use jigs in colder or warmer water? I am always looking for advice. I've tried 1/16 oz jigs all winter without much luck. My last two trips I used minnows on a double dropshot rig. I actually caught three nice 12 inch crappie today.

Hi, this is my opinion only and not meaning too be rude. The better percentage of us do NOT have livescope and we enjoy videos put out by Richard Gene The Fishing Machine. He catches fish almost every time, using very economical fishing equipment which most of us can afford. I do appreciate your informational videos, just being honest with my answer.
@wildlifeadventures-13
@wildlifeadventures-13 2 года назад
Vicki, thank you for watching my videos, I will offer two comments, go to my channel page and scroll back to the beginning of my videos , you will find roughly 50-60 videos about crappie fishing before I had live-scope and some very good informative videos especially spring fishing and dock fishing . I do understand that live-scope is out of price range for most people that fish ,the goo Lord has blessed me to be able to afford one, but don't let the fact that I show live-scope shots on my videos deter you from watching ,I show those scenes for all of us to learn about crappie behavior and how crappie relate to structure and how they react to lures or minnows .I have learned so much about fish behavior since I started using live-scope .I remember one scene where I was having to twitch the bait ever so slightly to get a crappie to react and bite the lure and you can actually see how the crappie reacts, So you gain that knowledge from my channel without buying a live-scope you can incorporate that into your fishing stile .
