In this video I'm talking about how I keep up with the hard to find summer crappie. I talk about some of my favorite cranks and we catch some great slabs.
Lois White Cross yeah it's been really really hot here as well. Add the fact that the waters down literally four feet and it's been a very difficult summer to fish for sure! In fact trolling is one of the only things working right now and even it takes a lot of commitment to figure out the patterns which seem to change every 3 or 4 hours.
It was my pleasure to serve our great nation; would do it all over again with no regrets. I'm retired now, so the wife and I are loaded up and going to hit the water "in search of..." in the early morning (northwest corner of South Carolina, Lake Keowee).
James Barron I honestly don't think there's a better option than the Bandit 300 when it comes to trolling crappie. But the Strike King 3xd does come in rather close.
If you haven't tried them #5 flicker shads work just as good if not better. And cost less when your trolling trees ticking the tops your going to lose a few. Nice video. And do like the Bandits.
I do have some of the flicker shads and I like them overall. I've had a problem with them not trailing very straight. If they could fix that they would be an excellent trolling rig.
Paul S yeah actually I have noticed that schools of crappie do sit up against Bluffs sometimes. Where I fish there's only a couple stretches of Bluffs so I haven't done it very often but a friend of mine does that all the time at lake of the ozarks and he seems to have a lot of luck with Bluffs.
I run between 1.4 and 2.5 mph. I usually try 1.4 first and jump incrementally. On this day they were very deep. I believe it was like 22ft. Usually finding the depth is the hardest part.
Richard Bruce after she says click the eye above you should be able to see a little letter I appear on the upper right-hand screen. If you click it it takes you to another video that talks about the giveaway. Good luck buddy I truly hope you win.
