Genuinely, if you want to look like you have old money, or even if you want to look like you didn’t get rich by winning the lottery yesterday, don’t do this! Don’t buy bags with brands stapled across the front like a badge of wealth! That will not make you look elegant, it will make you look like a wannabe, not to mention if you’re just now trying to get into high society, you might not even have the financial security to buy a bag reaching into the thousands. Dress elegantly, with as expensive (or expensive looking) fabrics as you can, and carry yourself with grace, but just know, an actual millionaire or generally rich person, will never be strutting around with labels written all over them!
Exactly. Why would I want to be a walking billboard if I'm not the brand's spokesmodel? I don't care what the designer is, it looks tacky especially those loud brands like Louis Vuitton, Versace... it's why I would never have that Channel tote. Very poor taste.
I agree, much of what she says regarding dress/appropriateness is the same as my grandmother would pass on to me years ago. Back then I also read etiquette books and carried them on my head to improve posture.
This is a good question! I would like a video styling outfits for errands. If I had to guess I think she would approve of something like a linen trouser or paper bag shorts and like, a crisp sleeveless collar shirt or nice quality cotton shirt. I could be WAY wrong! But I hope she does touch on this!
The rich people in my area of Sydney wear pants (not leggings or sweatpants) a flattering white T-shirt and Lacoste shoes with necklaces and a watch for their groceries lol
Loved this video! Can you please do a video on loungewear / what to wear in your house when no one is around? I think elegance is a 24/7 thing and every moment can be glamorous! 💕
I would wear a two piece set of satin or silk bed clothing. They look so elegant and classy. To top it off, get a silk robe and fuzzy slippers or slides
Wow, I am so grateful for your channel.!Growing up at private school, I have learned manners and etiquette. Yet I am horrible with fashion! I love fashion yet I’m 4’11” 100 lbs and have a very weird time with elegance and choosing correct clothing! I really appreciate this channel! Maybe can you do an episode on elegance for petite women?! Being in university drained all of my fashion sense😭!
Your so awesome! I can't have enough of your videos! I dont see many women delivering as much value on RU-vid! I watch your videos asap they come out! Keep up the outstanding work!
I so enjoy watching you Anna. Watching you makes me feel young reminds me when I was younger. You're driven in a good way and this is being spoken by a very spiritual person. You really do got what it takes to succeed in life to fulfill every dream you've ever thought of. Just don't forget the spiritual element it's very important on the journey. I appreciate your attitude you seem very down-to-earth and I believe that's your background. I'm glad you're shooting for your dream. Just remember gratitude very important it will bring you everything.
This video is just in time! I've been pondering over the last few weeks what kind of beachwear is appropriate and rather than look trashy would be elegant.
I’ve been watching your tips. They’re exactly the tips I want to know. I love the idea of looking like classic young lady. I believe fashion is a little over the top these days and I don’t really like to show my skin at all so I try to find out what to wear and cover up without looking lazy. Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Hi Anna. Thank you so much for your valuable insights and the high quality content. I really enjoy your videos. I am married to a great man but it never hurts to be more elegant. He likes that I shared some of your videos with our 10 year old daughter. It was about things elegant women never do like cracking fingers or neck or chewing nails. Not being aggressive in your body language etc. It was very useful. I just want to express my opinion about you wearing black. I have seen it in a few other videos and it really changes how you look. It takes away your usual glow. I wonder if it's too stark of a contrast with your fair skin and hair. Please try navy or charcoal instead. Also you had a pink cashmere sweater on in your winter coat series video that made you look even more beautiful than ever. All the best and thanks again.
I am pretty sure that she recommends them because it's Hermez . If it says nine west or something like that, it would not make the list. Also the channel bag....I thing the logo sims to be the most in your face non elegant ever...
You both make fair points! I think logos that are pasted across in big letters, like Supreme, is not a good look. I personally find smaller logos to be more tasteful, like an LV bag. That being said, I dislike the Hermés sandals because of the shape of them. It looks very "I dress like a 40 year old" which I don't even think actual 40 year old women should do. There is a timeless and elegant look that looks polished and affluent on anyone. I really agree with and appreciate most of Anna's other tips!
Look expensive with Pucci cover-up, Hermès flats, Chanel bag and a USD 300 hat, well anyone can do it! And if you have a USD 2000 beach outfit, well you are already rich!
Cat Woman GREAT POINT! And I think picking what you wear and take with you with regards to the beach and stuff or swimming should depend on the beach you’re going to, if it’s a VERY public beach, yeah don’t bring your best stuff out there unless you’re a sunbather and stay with your things all day. However if the setting is more private, a resort, exclusive etc. Go for it!

Girls, these brazilian brands are amazing! Agilita, Cia Marítima , Leth ... Anna ❤️
Every time you surprise me im very happy we share the same oppinion😏 I realy tink a swimsuit is for a private pool and for afternoons near the sun set and tunics is the acesory I like to call as the final touch of beatch elegance 😍 And the fendi or any other flipflops that girls wear on the street ... Thankyou for makeing everything more easy and elegant
Maison Michel Paris has sales at times throughout the year - good time to buy special hats. And if you are in Paris looking for something from a different season, the sales associates are really nice and helpful. I bought a nice summer straw hat during Christmas time there a few years ago. Also, for those who do not know, Maison Michel is who make Chanel hats.
Havaianas are really useful at the beach next to my hometown since its a VERY simple place packed with people who will usually steal your nicer sandals.
LOL. Just last week I was sorting through the beach cover-ups in my closet and I thought of what Anna would say about them! This is too funny. I actually hated the way the tunics and the jersey ones look on my body, but I was being practical when I bought them. I never knew that I could find the robe style. I totally need to buy new beach cover ups now. Ha! THANK YOU, ANNA! You're our girl.
I know you have said that black isn't your color, but I really do think black looks GREAT on you. I hope you will continue to wear it. I like it better on you than the pastel or bright colors!
Anna can you please make a video about elegant clothes that are comfortable especially for summer. I struggle in this australian heat to look good without looking like sweaty mess
Light weight Cotton and linen in lighter colors are your friend ! Get you some 100% cotton seersucker . its purposely wrinkled and breathes like a dream. I've experienced 115°F dry heat and a 95°F + 40% humidity so it feels like 110°F . Dresses and skirts also help with air flow dillowy blouses that you tuck into a waist band at natural waist with a belt also look nice.
Could you do a video explaining the difference between quality polyester and cheap polyester? I’m trying to create a quality capsule wardrobe and there have been nicer looking polyester pieces that I’ve passed up solely because they are polyester. I’d love to get your input on this. 💕
You're absolutely right. I'm from Greece and there's a range of sandals or slippers that look luxurious regardless of price. Walking around in flip-flops downtown is plainly ridiculous.
Thanks for sharing this with us..please do a video on how to choose the appropriate dress for the occasion ..thank you my lady ..you are so talented 😍❤❤
Flip flops are my go to everyday. Living on a small island I always thought this was normal. Barbados is 80°+ and the beach is always less than a 30min drive no matter where you are on the island
I'm 47 and I'm fed up feeling past it and have let my life pass by, I have two children who are teenagers. Do you have any advice on how to elevate myself and my life or am I too old and should forget it?x
i agree with you on the fact flip flops look and feel cheap, but i dont feel like spending 500+ in a pair of flat sandals. however, i do own couple of pairs of birkenstocks thong style in white and black, they are super comfortable, good quality, go with every outfit, and are 100 usd
Anna, could you please suggest a few brands for the sandals and coverup that are a bit less expensive than Chanel and Emilio Pucci, but are still producers of chic, beautiful clothing and accessories?
I walk with havaians almost everywere in my daily life and it is very common in my country. I do that because I'm having hard time to find comfortable shoes for my feet so unfortunely untill I find comfort within other shoes, I'ma stick with my flipflops.
I use one of the Goyard totes for the beach, personally. Big. Easy canvas to wipe. Nice and simple. And hard to look like a tryhard. Goyard is one of those “if you know, you know” pieces.
Use sunblock people! Her info is good and you do NOT have to be rich to add her advice to your life in an affordable way. I do not wear jeans since I was early 20s and I have a variety of pants slacks etc. I just wear what I am comfortable in. Flip flops was for the beach when I was growing up. Women with dirty feet in a big city is ughhhh!
Hi Anna, was hoping you could make a video about midrange brands (like Michael Kors for example) and what to buy to look expensive from them, and what looks cheap. I do not shop at H&M (honestly more because the quality is terrible) but cannot quite effort true designer items (college student!)... more like a lululemon/nordstrom budget. Would be super helpful for us ladies who are trying to be as elegant as possible but are not quite sure which pieces to wear right now! I love your videos :) thanks
A really eye opening experience for me was when I went for a boat tour with my family as a teen. My family and I were joking around having the best time, we got to swim and snorkel and enjoy ourselves. There was another girl about my age on the boat, she was gorgeous. She had a designer swim suit and perfect makeup and she had just entered the modeling agency. All of the old ladies on the boat were buzzing about how mature and wonderful this girl was because she just sat there quietly unlike us uncivilized children who were laughing (gasp). She didnt even get her SWIMSUIT wet. Meanwhile she looked downright miserable. So the important lesson I learned was that happiness and joy of life > superficial meaningless values such as your so called "class".
Can you please make a video about how to look classy at the club/ night out? I feel like it's hard coz everyone's wearing body con dresses and ripped jeans and stuff
I am enjoying and implementing some of the advice you offer. Thanks. I would like to ask, How to compliment someone in an elegant way? Regards Dunia Lozano
In my view, the most important is you must have a curve good proportion toned body and beautiful face, no mater how expensive you wear if you are not physically attractive nobody will notice you or people simply just don't care. Not only in the beach but anywhere else.
Anna, haven't you been thinking about doing a video focused on underwear? It's literally killing me when I see a woman in fabulous dress, wearing inappropriate pieces of lingerie (whether it is a weird shape, visible panty lines, badly fitting bras, etc.) ... Also, I would be curious about your tips on high quality and elegant lingerie :)
And flip flops at the airport -- why would anyone wear them? No one wants to see all that foot and it's dangerous to wear them with all the rollaboards. Just a bad look that makes no sense. They belong around the pool and that is where it ends.
I saw a green bathing suit, with a little bit of a tiny "V" neck. My problem is the chest part... So I really get tired of shopping at some point, because I can spend 3 hours and find nothing... My financial situation (parents actually, so yeah... my savings don't really exist now... I really want to live with my boyfriend in Germany in a few years, after I finish my License and my Master degree, so that I can finally start getting most of my life right), is not the best right now. So... the whole budget thing is an issue, but mostly because I need to know for sure before I buy anything. I always liked cover-ups because they look really beautiful and kind of fantasy like to some extend, besides, they hide what they should, so you can look kind of casual yet elegant and refined.
I got my own money luckily my significant one has money too. I too , just love to watch her video since I’m always wearing hospitals scrubs because I want to be up to date with fashion.
I can't do this! Even listening to it stresses me out, but one thing that stuck with me from your other video, is pouring bottle water in a cup instead of drinking straight from the bottle, unless, it's really hot and I'm really tired and dehydrated and there is no cup around to make me feel elegant, don't no body tell me anything! 😠
Playing hard to get For those women that still seeking to marry : " Appear as though you do not , but mind you do it sweetly ." Advice to single women by Haydn Brown , 1900 , UK
I’m 4ft 11 and a very round Apple shape with a short body and short legs. I’m never going to look ‘elegant’ no matter how much I spent on clothes. Elegance comes easier to tall women.
You are right it is an investment for that year. Rich woman will check you if the bathing suits are last years fashion( especially if they are jealous of you).
Nadja K Oh, yes it is. People will buy secondhand Oscar de la Renta, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci bag or clothes or jacket or shoes or accessories. I have meet people who have received a good sum of money in selling their brand name items for charity.
@@dolsiemercado3140 An investment is something that will increase in value over time. Unless you have the money to "invest" in a Hemes bag, you will always get less money than retail for fashion so your statement is bananas.
@@nadjak3410 I agree with you. There is sensible shopping, like buying very expensive things that will last a lifetime (hint, it should be a high quality fur coat, not beach sandals, which WON'T last a lifetime) but that still isn't an investment, it is just buying one very expensive product so you never have to buy several cheap ones because they wear down.
I agree with most of your videos, but so many items from this video, I don't. Hermes sandals for the beach? $600? Those coverups? They would be filthy after 20 minutes on the beach.
For anyone complaining these things are expensive, should try Ross , TJ max , deedees. They have lots of knockoff designer purses, shoes, accessories. Whenever something is in fashion with the expensive brands, the cheap off brand version can usually be found at these stores- just a lil life hack for y’all.
