I am simply fascinated by your awesome techniques, you always surprise me with a new way of knitting or interlacing the yarn, I love watching such creative ways of knitting!
OMG I never knew there was so many different ways to use the looms! Thanks for the awesome designs! I will definitely have a lot of fun with this channel!
Wow, this is so cool. I love your videos, Tuteate! I've got into knitting with looms several weeks ago at school because my home eck class was making baby hats to donate to charity. Since then, I bought a set of round looms for myself and I'm starting to do pretty well, too, with the help of your amazing tutorials. I even sold a couple of things I've made. I'll never have to buy a hat again, just the yarn to make one! Thanks so much, and keep up the good work!
Cortini Bikini thank you so much for all these nice words! :) So glad to know our tutorials are useful to you! Feel free to send us pictures of your results to info@tuteate.com if you want. Have a nice day! :)
Tuteate You're welcome! Also, I found it interesting on how you stitched the flaps together on your beret. Do you think it's possible to create something like a stuffed animal using a similar technique? Could you perhaps make a video on that?
Tuteate, I would just like to say that you make the best looming videos. I've learned so much by watching your work. I always look forward to see what video you have posted next and will try it. Thank you so much and keep looming and keep posting. P.S. I am working on this particular hat as I type.
Blakberri323 thank you so much for your feedback and nice words!! :) Hope you get a nice beret and you send us a picture of your result! ;) (feel free to send us pictures to info@tuteate.com)
J'adore. Il faut que je me le fasse ! Merci pour cette super vidéo qui explique vraiment très, très, très bien :D (même si j'ai peur qu'il soit trop grand sur ma tête au final...)
Thank you so much for this video! I made the beret hat and it turned out very nice! I used thicker wool though, so it's a bit stiff and heavy. Somehow I ended up using 160 meter wool. I think I will remake it with slightly thinner wool and 36 pegs next time, but will definitely keep this version as well. xD
Hi mock24 ! :) You will see we used 40 pegs and we divided them in groups of 8 pegs to work the beret... Maybe you could divide in groups of 6 and do something similar... let's see how it works :)
Wow you are amazing! Can't wait to try out all your tutorials!! ^____^ Keep it up! I don't know how to knit, never learnt how but you sure know how to make it look easy and I can't wait to give it a spin! where do I get that peg loom? o.o
Hi tuteate, I really love all your tutorials very easy to learn, you are a great teacher, please what type of yarn do you use and size. I will be very greatful if you let me know thanks
Barbara Horovitz thank you so much! We'd love to see your results :) (feel free to send us pictures to info@tuteate.com if you want). You can use the 40 peg loom for this project, you will see we just use 40 pegs to make the beret :)
I have a question, I m trying this on 36 pegs loom, and I divided the parts into 7 pegs and which equal 5 parts, should I just continue following ur instructions
I just love your tutorials! Do you think you could come up with a pattern for a Sunday shawl or shrug? I'd like to make one for church using my loom. Thanks for all you do!
Sarah Bolt hi! Thank you :) Here we have a shrug tutorial you maybe could use to adapt to your needs: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7jVy-HWhybA.html
Always so excited to see a new Tuteate video! YAY! What kind of yarn did you use for this? I mean the brand/color. You say that it is for 10.5 needles (US) but this looks like super bulky yarn (vs. bulky). Would you say this is a super bulky? I don't know if you use those designations where you are though. Also, I have the Knifty Knitter 48 peg, 10.5 inch hat loom. I normally use that for making hats (the size works well) because it is a smaller gauge (I've done hats from your other videos using that loom). And, the peg count is divisible by 8 so I think it could work. But, I wonder: do you use the larger loom because for the beret you need a larger diameter? I do have a 41 peg, 11.5 inch, I am just worried that it will be too large for my head but perhaps the beret needs that larger diameter to be so floppy? If I did it on the 48 peg, I would do more than 50 rows of garter stitch for that 5 stitch band; I'd do about 58 to compensate for the increased peg count, right?
vegangelist hahaha thank you! ^_^ Here we used a yarn called Katia Canada: www.katia.com/lana.php?idLana=canada&lng=ENG (they say is for US 10.5). I guess this type of yarn is bulky (while this other one used here, Katia Artico, is super bulky: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5tSJMYzMdMs.html )
i am left handed, anyway you can make a video of this with the loomer holding the hook in their left hand? its awkward for me to loom to the left when i use my left hand to loop the yarn :) i will be doing this hat soon!! love your videos!
Kayla Still hi! You can follow all the videos working to the right (my "last peg" would be your "first peg") :) It will be the same. We'd love to see your result! (feel free to send us pictures to info@tuteate.com)
+Kelley hi! We normally use chunky yarns for knitting needles of at least 6mm (I guess this is #5). In this particular project we are using a yarn called Katia Canada.
Very nice beanie I wish I can make one the only problem that I have is that my round loom has 36 pegs only ,is it possible to do it on it ? Thank you very nice work .Marthese Cilia
Marthese Cilia hi! You will see we used 40 pegs and we divided them in groups of 8 pegs to work the beret. Maybe on a 36 peg loom you could do something similar dividing them in groups of 6 pegs. Please let us know if you try it, ok? :)
Did exactly as you showed and in the first section right after the brim... When I knit it off the loom IT BEGAN UNRAVELLING. Did exactly as you said.. Help can this be fixed????
Juan Andres Nuñez hi! You could work the brim in the same way as we do in other hats (for example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VD_ZtFr0RBQ.html ) and then, after that, you could follow this video from minute 5:37
I have made a couple of your hat's before and loved them, but this one is really challenging. I have made my four parts and I hope I have counted the segment rows correctly, otherwise it may not fit correctly. I assume after I have sewn each segment together as you have shown, I will close the slight hole in the top of the hat? The video does not address this....any advice?
Kate D hi! Did you make 4 parts or 5? We made 5 in total (here you will see some pictures that maybe will help you: www.tuteate.com/2015/01/21/teje-una-boina-con-telar/).
So ive read the comments & answers...im also using a 40 peg loom and u said you're only using 40 but it looks like on the 1st part of the beret part u cast on 1 more which would be the 41st peg. Im really confused as to what I need to do. Im sure its something simple but im not understanding none the less. Could u please help??!!!
Help!! I messed up my second set of triangles. How can I fix it? Can I redo the section without taking it all out? I can try to send a pic of it if you like. I love your videos and I spent so much time on this hat that I don't want to take it apart if I don't have too.
Hello , I love your work it's so nice , my loom knitting is from 36 pig how can I divide the groups , and by mistake I made an the part free so long , if I want to remove it and make it shorter can you tell me how please 💗
+Sara Khalid hi! You could just use 35 pegs of your loom (we have a 41 peg loom but we just use 40 pegs) and divide them in 5 groups of 7 pegs. You could work a new shorter band or leave this long band and add more buttons at the end.
i' m also doing a beret at 36. so what's the # for 36 pag. i'm going with every 8 pag. but can you get back to me by tomorrow morning? please let me know. thank you for your time!!!!
Hi Tuteate as usual great pattern Does this design work for a man????? And which stitches good for men hats and scarvea???? Asking you because most stitches look girly
I would recommend you these hats for a man: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VD_ZtFr0RBQ.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EQMW1FB0w58.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u6HL0oqXQ0Y.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lY8-dLGXO48.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dK3phOl71oc.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ujArndFzEjY.html
Awesomesun1 hi! Sorry, we haven't tried this out in other sizes, but maybe you could try following this tutorial's directions on a smaller loom, and work a less number of combos on each of the 5 parts we do to make the beret. Hope this helps!
Hi Melinda! I used 110g of a yarn called Katia Canada. You'll see more details here: www.tuteate.com/2015/01/21/teje-una-boina-con-telar/ (it's in Spanish, but it might be useful)
I can't figure out how to get the band on the loom. All my stitches seem too tight and it's mostly off screen in the video so hard to see. Could use some clarification on this part.
Hi Kristin! You made the band working rounds of purls and rounds of knits, right? When at minute 4:34, I just place the sidest stitch of every row of knits on the loom (the ones in the "valleys", check minute 5:05 )
eva james hi! For a child you would need to work a shorter brim (on the first part of this tutorial we are working a band that will become the brim) and use an smaller loom (such as the 36 peg loom) instead of the 41 peg loom...
+Tuteate sorry. I'm still confused. I attached the first 2 parts together and sewed to the top and that's where I'm stuck and don't know where to go next because the video just went straight to the last part from there. Sorry lol
ljay jsmith hi! Better check the video from minute 5:38 , you will see we divided the loom in groups of 8 pegs (we used 40 pegs in total, so we had 5 groups of 8 pegs). We use each group to work each triangle.. Hope this helps!
Tlk Creations hi! You could start using less number of pegs for the brim part (the first part), and then, after that, use 30 pegs (instead of the 40 pegs we use) and divide your loom in 5 groups of 6 pegs (instead of 5 groups of 8 pegs).
Merci de me répondre je sait que moi aussi je pourrais apprendre l'anglais mais c'est trop tard mais votre travaillé & très intéressant merci de votre réponse je serait très content si c'est traduit en français mais salutation & bonne soirée
+Gail Daniel hi! Let's see if somebody else can give you an answer :) (we don't normally have these brands in Europe, we use Katia Canada, Phildar Rapido,...)
+Elizabeth Riepenhoff hi! If your yarn is very thin you will see that your knitting comes out very loose, with holes. Maybe you could use 2 or 3 strands of thinner yarn at the same time, as if you had just 1 thicker strand
I finished this hat and it did not look like a beret at all. I must have counted the number of stitches incorrectly in two of the panels. Those two panels were much longer ( I added to many stitches) than the rest and when I sewed them all up, the hat ended up having a cute elf point. Not what I was going for, but but still very nice. Warning: Each panel must look the same and have the same number of stitches, our it will not look like a beret.
At first I thought this tutorial was very good and in part it is. However, not telling you how long to make the tails... Mine was very long, still not enough so it was a nightmare to finish. Won't do this one again.
