Peppermint is cooling, that combined with the massage (which brings the blood up to the area) is what has helped. Tea Tree helps with the pain. It will actually be good for the entire shaft of the hair as well - it will eliminate any nasty smells and kill any mould

Just got my locs done for the first time yesterday and im over here crying because of the braids. Now i do hair myself and i even get my hair professionally by the Africans, but this pain is absolutely unbearable. I love the look but this style hurts. I want to take them out but I spent almost $200 on them
I’m really over here regretting that I even got these. My hair so tender and I’m hurting so bad. I keep spraying cold oil sheen on my scalp. Giving it some what of a relief

I can't wear my locs up in a style no more because of the soreness. So, cudos to u 4 getting soft locs. This tip will help my daughter with her braids. When is ur oil coming out..Patiently waiting. Lol

I honestly wonder if it’s the gel? I had mine done for my upcoming birthday and they used gel (and what felt like a lot) and when I sprayed this my hair and scalp felt less “stuck”. I get using gel for a more sleek look but sometimes I wonder if people go overboard with it.
