And then there were the Phones where you put the hearing and conversation piece into a cradle, thereby "hanging up." Circa 1920's until the "Wall Piece or Old Phone Piece with a dial piece (meaning you put your finger into a dial rotary phone piece and chose a number to dial and let go to the return dial, before you went to the next number) or when the push button phones came out, you just dialed the number...But the hearing and speaking piece still went into a cradle to stop the phone conversation, such as the "Princess Phone" circa 1980 - 2000. Now we are using the "Cell Phone" which can be a "Smart Phone or Feature Phone."

Learning English for me is like a dream, I started studying very late in my life, but I like doing it, and now, that I have known you, I feel very lucky because your lessons are very understandable even for a beginner like me. I have seen each your lesson video, and I never tire of listening to you, but the strange thing, in all of this, is I can understand almost everything, but unfortunately I never talk to anyone in English. I thank you because you have made better these bad moments of our life, and also i’m very happy seeing you in good heath better than before. Hello, Christian. Thanks a lot for new video. When I started learning English I thought the most difficult things are using articles and Tenses. But later I understood that the most difficult is PREPOSITIONS. Why? Because there are no rules of using prepositions. The only thing you should do is learning them by heart. But your explanation how to love prepositions are absolutely fantastic)) Thanks again. Take care. See you next class)

I’m a 60 year old native speaker and you are absolutely correct when you say we don’t study or know grammar. I was never taught to diagram sentences and have no idea what most grammatical terms are. Subjunctive? Never heard of it. I have a child that speaks multiple languages she is very well versed in grammar having had to learn it when studying other languages. My personal beef is trying learn a language that gives gender to inanimate objects. It just makes no sense.

Christian you're not a real teacher I mean you are a great teacher one of the best I have ever had, but you make me feel like I'm in front of an astronaut so I just follow you in this never ending travel around this language I have been studying all my life and that I am still trying to learn. You can just imagine how scared I am when I am teaching it with all my mistakes and all my gaps. I like your lesson on how to love prepositions and obviously I spread to my mates your lesson with chocolate biscuits on phrasal verbs. I am Italian and now I know our phrasal verbs in my mother tongue but it's not that handy because we use prepositions as prefixes so they are glued to the verb and they can not move like with the verb FERIRE + CON, IN, DI, PRE, DE, A, INTER, PRO, O, S, and you get CONFERIRE, INFERIRE, DIFFERIRE, PREFERIRE, DEFERIRE etc and also in this case like in English the prepositions conveys the main meaning and become the main verbs like in FINIRE CON LE PULIZIE o FINIRE DI PULIRE that is your CLEAN UP and the verb FERIRE becomes a sort of an adverb of manner.

OK we will keep it Simple, yet correct. Your perspective today reminds me of my Mother learning the English Language, years ago in Michigan, to earn her equivalent High School Diploma Degree, using a quite interesting book, called the "Foundations of Grammar." She was originally from Switzerland and had learned German and French in school as a child and young adult. Then came along English and she said back in the day, she would write on the palm of her hand, 5 new words that she would learn to use, every day! Then she came to the USA with her Husband, my Father and had to quickly learn a lot more English. Her accent when I first knew her. as Child, of the English Language was flawless. Now back in Europe at age 3 through 7...hmm I had to learn at least 2 languages to communicate on the streets and then learn some more in the local schools in Germany and later in Switzerland. Prepositions indicate: Time, manner and place. And it seems so in the 4 languages that I know. Now that we have set that Standard, I realize that in German...we can use certain "Prepositions as either in the Accusative case or the Dative case." The some Prepositions are only used in the Genitive, Accusative or Dative Case." Then some Verbs only take a particular "Prepositional Case." My, my, my.. learning a Language is so..." Its Just Impossible" thinking of the Song by two great Artists, and I will let them speak for themselves... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--Mfd4E7kpvc.html, Elvis Presley; and... Frank Sinatra....ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N4d0JYZBKZs.html ...
