Today is an extremely exciting day in our How to LS Swap series sponsored by ‪@SummitRacing‬ where we finally put our built 5.3 LS LM7! By the end of this video you will know exactly how to swap a LS engine into a vehicle that never came with one stock. This is something you can totally do in your garage over a weekend. Just go slow and take your time, think things though and don't be frustrated if you encounter a roadblock. We hit a snag even in this video but I show you how to get around it. If you have any questions please leave them below and I will do my best to answer the. Thank you so much for watching!

I usually see people fill the torque converter with a quart or so of oil before install. Not sure how important that is since I am a manual guy. Nice work so far!

Yeah I have seen that too and you can but here's the thing. The first thing the pump fills up is the torque converter. Thanks for watching!

The trans is a 4L60 in your earlier shot to what looked to be a 4L80 (31:15) style with a cutaway. Didn’t know they made the 4L60 with a inspection cover like the 80, maybe later designs? I hate taking off 4L60s, have to remove the starter

Nope. It is a turbo 350. Thanks for watching!

First like! Rivet? Really? I would have thought that by 55 that it would have been a fully welded frame. I know they didn't trust welding on ship hulls and on the Liberty ships would rivet on steel belts on the outer hull at the beginning of their run but by the end of the war they had stopped doing that when they learn to trust welding. Just damned strange to see it still in use in the 50's. The oil block off plate...I saw another mechanic use that to hook up the factory oil pressure sensor. He used it to attach to the factory gauge and allowed them to avoid replacing all of the gauges on the dash. He still used the LS sensor so the computer would get the reading. A similar hack was used for the coolant temp. Torque converter....good call. When you said you were going to use that 4100 my jaw dropped because it would be hell as a street car. I'm curious about the Bel Air radiator...does it go in front of or behind the core support? Keep up the good work...I love your videos and can't wait to see this thing lay down some rubber.

Right?! Nope even in the good old days they did it quick and cheap. That would work but I'm just going to rely on the LS's sender for oil pressure. Don't need and other spot to leak lol Would have been fun! But yeah not for super long. Stock it goes on the engine side but on our we will have to figure something else out! Thank you so much for watching and following the series along!
