it's our crazy busy season!! Don't forget to take care of your equipment ! great stuff to get to take care of your tools! scissor oil whitmans.biz/s... blade oil whitmans.biz/r... blade wash caddy whitmans.biz/r...
Redip blade solution is good stuff, but it is actually more of a blade cleaner than a lubricant or oil, so I am pretty sure you still need clipper oil. I love the way it makes those hair bunches fall out.
Hey Allison! Any tips for a new groomer? Today was my first training day in the shop and I am kinda feeling down and feeling like I am never going to get this! thanks.
hey hope! thats a classic dose of learning how to be a groomer. It is such a rollercoaster, one day you think you are getting it and then the next you get a different breed and different situation and you feel awful about yourself! Hold your head up! we have all been there! Listen to your mentors and always ask questions if you aren't sure! I am glad you found me here as this is a safe place to learn!
Do you clean your blades and everything every day? What do you use to disinfect between pets? I have heard conflicting things about the sprays causing equipment to rust. Thoughts?
I try to clean things regularly but i would be lying if i said i do it every single day but that is why i have 2 sets of blades, almost 3. so if i have an absolute disgusting dog ill put that blade away to be cleaned after ive done the dog. as well as if i have a dog with sensitive skin or irritated skin ill make sure to start with a new blade.
Thanks for your concern, there are multiple people in my shop that work on a daily basis. As I was in the front filming, various staff were in the back continuing work. Little doggy whines are a guaranteed part of the job 24/7. Hope it wasn't too much of a distraction and you were still able to learn how to maintain your equipment! xx Allison
