I show you the easiest way to keep your pressure washer pump working for years. This one little maintenance item is most of all what you need to do. This will keep your pump from blowing up. Some say it's tough to do but I show you a few tricks on how to make it easier.
**** THIS IS NOT A PAID REVIEW ****
I purchased this maintenance fluid on my own and made this review so you can see how it works and the annoying parts of it, too.

Great tip but there's a cheaper and more effective way. I'm a painting contractor and I have 4 commercial pressure washers. RV antifreeze is a anti rust solution for keeping the water pumps from rusting during storage. That is what I have used for 30 years and it comes in a gallon. All I do is attach a 2 ft. Garden hose to the inlet and stick the other end into the gallon of antifreeze, then start the pressure washer and cycle the fluid threw the pump for about 10 seconds and shut it down. It's never failed me and a gallon costs about the same.

"Aaron Linsdau - Polar Explorer" Not what I was expecting while watching a movie on pressure washer maintenance, but really cool! Cat Pumps for their version of the pump protector recommends squeezing the bottle, and for an electric, briefly turning on the unit until you can see the fluid being discharged. Have you tried this method? Also, do you have any experience with spray-type versions, such as those made by Sta-bil or Briggs and Stratton?
@ALinsdau
@ALinsdau 3 года назад
Sometimes I do videos out of the wheelhouse when I think it might be helpful to others. I've not had a need to momentarily turn on the pump. I can get the green fluid to dribble out every time. Nope, I haven't tried any other fluids - only the recommended one at the local orange big box store.

Love your videos. Keep it up :) However , I do have a question for you. I've read here and on different websites like you said how others have found this bottle version of pump saver sometimes difficult to use. However, couldn't you use one of the alternative aerosol versions of pump saver instead? I hear they're much easier to use. I don't think they're limited to gas pressure washer versions alone . What are your feelings on this subject and have you ever tried one?

I just purchased a Ryobi 3300 psi 2.5GPM (4c) pressure wash and I am completely new to this and I want to make sure I use the right things so nothing breaks. Also, should i buy lubricant and apply it if I am going to constantly run my machine about everyday. How often should I change the fuel and oil and when will I know when to. Sorry for all of these questions, just a young entrepreneur trying to start a new business :) thanks.

The product you use in the video stinks. very messy and spills all over the place. you have to try STA-BIL Pump protector. cheaper than the other brand. Purchased at Walmart for 5.99. you don't have to turn on the machine. you simply screw on to the inlet and press. WOW! The only thing that was messy was the fluid spray out of the outlet. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Another thing to do is take a small sheet of aluminum foil and place it over and squeeze it on the intake and outflow connectors. Bugs love to go in and lay their eggs and then seal up the openings.

how about using a big turkey baster

That'd work but it doesn't add pressure.

I hire a pressure washer for the weekend and do my whole family's driveways and walls, then hand it back. Let them maintain it.
@ALinsdau
@ALinsdau 3 года назад
That's a very good idea, too.

This Simpson stuff is expensive. An aerosol product like Sta-Bil is half the cost, injects a thick foam under pressure and coats the entire inside of the pump and is way easier to use.

Nah man. Electric water pumps still need cleaning/lubrication just like a gas water pump. It's essentially the same thing just different energy source that powers the pump. But design wise, not much diff

Want your pump to last - never run your pump in idle without the gun's handle being depressed. Never.

Only true for gas pressure washer washers and maybe electrical without total stop system (which even the cheapest electrics have most of the time). Total stop turns the motor and thus the pump off when trigger isn’t being pulled

Polar Explorer? So you know the earth is not a globe in size and shape we have studied it to be for many years...As the public has now gathered over thousands of video evidence seeing miles further than the curve would allow us. Wondering your experience in the Antarctica, as it is very restricted to go beyond the designated areas.

I crossed nearly half the continent plus was off-route for 100s of miles, so I'm pretty familiar. You can actually see the curvature effect at Lake Tahoe or on the ocean coming back into shore.

@@ALinsdau You either are a fool who allows his imagination dictate what he believes, or you are blind as a bat! I take that back, I would not say you are a fool if you allow your imagination to dictate your belief, but you sure as hell should stay away from scientific understanding. Write a fiction book ...maybe some scifi.Nothing wrong with folks who have dreams and they believe it. Just not when doing scientific observations.
