Subbed! Great video thank you. Buying one of these tomorrow but with the 17hp motor and to be honest I would have had to take it somewhere else to get a tune up if you didnt have this video. I do basic things on my truck but anything im not positive about I dont like messing with. My dad wasnt the mechanical type so figuring this out on my own
Hah all that wonderful exposition on disassembly, caveats, watch out for this or that, best practices etc. and you cut the best part, the final test start! It goes from about to turn the key to running in the yard...c'mon man, even if it didn't start first crank, gotta keep the first fire-up in there!
I had one of those. Made for Home Depot. It had the best control for Forward Reverse. I hate those pedals. Don't forget to do the Steering Shaft Bushing. 2006 Model? That device under the Float bowl is the Fuel Shut off solenoid. You can hear/feel it click when you turn the key to On.
I HAVE THE SAME RIDER & THE CARRIAGE GOT TOO LOW SOMEHOW SO WILL SHUT DOWN. I KNEW THAT'S WHAT IT WAS WHEN IT WOULDN'T START IN MY SHED & WAS CUTTING INTO THE WOOD FLOOR. IT'S ALSO A MAJOR PAIN THAT IT'S SO HARD TO GET TO THE SPARK PLUG TO GET HANDS IN THERE. MY LAST RIDER A MURRAY WAS SO EASY TO GET IT. THIS SCOT'S ONE ALSO HAS CRUISE I WASN'T USING ANYWAY BECAUSE OF DEEP TREE ROOTS I HAVE MARKED. THE BLADE IS ALL THE WAY UP TO 6 & I COULD CUT GREAT BEFORE AT 4. HELP IDEAS?
Hey Boss thanks for watching!! For me it Took 4 qts to fill her up! Obviously be sure to measure as you go on the dipstick to be safe! I attached a link to the oil filter I purchased off of Amazon! www.amazon.com/Filter-Deere-Scotts-L17-542-L2048/dp/B074G4WQV2
WOW I HAD THE SAME ISSUES OF THE STALL. I DIDN'T KNOW IT TOOK 4QUARTS OF OIL...5 W 30? BECAUSE I PUT IN 5 W 10 & SHOULD PROBABLY CHANGE NOW ? I NEEDED THIS TO KNOW WHERE TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUG, THAT'S SURE HIDDEN ON THIS RIDE! MY LAST ONE WAS EASY ACCESS. THANKS SOOOO MUCH FOR SHOWING US AROUND ON HOW TO DO THIS MAINTENANCE!!! FOR A SINGLE GIRL I HAVE NO CHOICE TO LEARN STUFF ON MY OWN. YOU MADE THIS NICE & EASY. GREAT MILWAUKEE VAC.... I'M FROM WI. 🙂👍🚜
I have this same exact mower i actually just picked up from off market place aswel. Now it runs good and cuts, but the only bad thing uts doin is cutting off seconds after i boost it off, but aslong as i got the booster cables connected to the battery it stays running, but when i disconnect the cables it turns off. Whats my problem?? 😩😩
Hey thanks for watching! If I'm reading your question right, sounds like you have either a bad battery, battery terminal connectors or most likely a bad stator! The stator is like an alternator on a car, once the battery starts the mower the stator keeps it running. However if battery has a bad cell or the terminals aren't clean of debris/corrosion and fully connected the power the "booster" provides could be enough to over ride those issues. Test the battery..if good clean and fully connect the terminals if those are good..odds ar your stator is bad.
Did you order all those replacement parts in a bundle from Amazon? Do you recall the seller or brand of the items? I’m having trouble rounding up the parts locally and prices are all over the place. I need what you have minus the carb. The spec sheet in the book for s1642 says two quarts of oil with filter included. Thanks I’m trying to get this mower tuned up to run
Hey boss! Oil I bought separate but this is a similar "tune up kit" I got off Amazon listed below!! www.amazon.com/Panari-GY20574-AM121608-AM123553-Tractor/dp/B076JG6L1Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?crid=2WO03EQC1O3AP&keywords=scotts+s2046+tune+up+kit&qid=1686451521&sprefix=tune+up+kit+for+scotts+%2Caps%2C205&sr=8-9
