I have totally watched tons of your videos tonight. I love watching other esthys doing fabulous. I’m 48 and have been doing facials for 29 yrs. I just checked my VagaroPro totals for last 30 days and I’m at $14,800 🙌🏻. I only take 3-4 facials a day. I only work April til mid December. Then I go south and don’t work all winter. People ask me a lot how do I take off over 3 months each winter ? I think to myself why not 🙌🏻🙏🏻. I work hard and I’m at the stage in my career I make it work for me ♥️. I love my clients but we need time to refill our energy too. Love your channel. 🥰
Hi Laura!! As a new esthetician, reading your comment gives me hope too. I’ve given Corp Amer. two decades and I’m now switching careers. I find it challenging in S.FL to find a business mentor but I’m determined to be successful in the industry as well.
@Laura I totally agree with taking those three months off. I'm an esthetician as well, but I'm also a nurse aide and the main thing I've learned from both professionals is in order to take care of someone else, you have to take care of yourself. Kudos to you on self care and being successful with your career! 👏👏👏
I didn’t realize how jealous other ppl in this business are of each other after working at a recent franchise. Omg the lead esthetician was awful. Not only did she get mad after not being trained enough just on 1 thing, she ran in grabbed it out of my hand, yelled & ran & told the owner. And the girls at the front were just as bad. That’s why working for yourself is best!!!!
I just wanted to say. I’m a newly licensed esthetician and I’ve had trouble with “business depression “ because I wanted to do so much with little clientele and little money but when I say I’ve been watching your videos as my podcasts in the mornings and before I go to bed…and you’ve drastically motivated me in so many ways to succeed and set goals!
I started out as a professional teeth whitener and in one month was making 30,000 and started teaching salons. I worked 24/7 though. and for 8 months straight till I got my master degree, I didn't stop and just knew I was going to have a clinic, and I week before I graduated I got a 250,000 government grant, I'm Canadian. And everything just came into place. Listen to this girl. I did the same, just have a higher education, but you have to hustle hustle hustle. and every penny I made went back into my business to end up having the best products, that made a name for myself and everyone in my city would come to me. I'm just in my new clinic now and am booked till the end of august. Im Beyond Skin Deep medical aesthetics and integrative medicine clinic. You will do awesome, keep working!!!
Starting school in 30 days, as a single mom of a 3 year old, and I cannot wait! I feel like I am finally starting MY life and MY dream :) Thanks for this awesome video!
I am a corporate spa business owner, I would say keep business separate from your personal page. You can still show your personality on your business. If you have different believes and post something without thinking hard about first, you can really damage your business reputation.
Yes I can completely agree with that also! There’s really no right or wrong to this lol obviously keeping it professional is #1.. That’s why I went back and forth so much about it. But another great option now that I didn’t have before back when I first made my page, is now you can create a close friends list on your Instagram story so that you could keep some things more private if you wanted to keep your personal page as your skincare page. But Definitely when you’re growing from a solo business into a more corporate spa business, then for sure making a separate one for clients to access would be great. Thanks so much for the feedback! ❤️ have a beautiful week.
I have 25 years experience in makeup and have decided to get my esthetician license and open a small day spa. Your advice was superb and so well articulated.... Thankyou!
I love the your video!! Very helpful information and I will apply it. I'm currently in an esthetician program and I enjoy it. Do you have a video on how you created your webpage?
I put it off for years, decades. I am 46 and just graduated 2 weeks ago.I loved school and I'm very excited about my future and learning more..good luck!!
This is so Inspiring. I’ve been at a spa for the last three years and I took a lash course in July, I have a spare bedroom in my home where I can perfect my application before I rent a room, although I want to focus on adv facial treatments, I know lashes are instant results. Thank you for putting out this content ❤️
Hi, did you do it in the end ? Using your spare bedroom at home ? I am thinking about doing the same and wanted to know how it went for you. Thanks in advance for your feedback. ;)
I'm starting esthetician school soon and I'm so glad I found this video. You are an inspiration and I absolutely love your energy. Thank you for taking time out of your busy life to make this video for people like me who are just getting started on their esthetician journey
I am a psychology student but I have always had a passion working as a cosmetologist/esthetician. I am considering going to school for this after I graduate... Never too late am I right
Okay same here wow I’m thinking of pausing college to do an esthetician program. I want to get my PhD so it’ll be many years before I actually have a career ! So my idea is to at least have something solid to hold me through all these years wish you all the best 💕🥰
The second you said you’re into manifesting, i followed. I completely agree and live my life by this law of the universe. You are giving me the courage to go to esthetician school. Thank you so much ❤
Great tips!!! I just took a leap of faith and made the transition from Dental to Esthetics and this video has given me so much hope for the future in this Industry!!! Thank you for sharing your story. Wishing you many more days of success✨🧿✨
You just gave me so much confidence I'm starting out in a small town area and I started to get a little discouraged about being an esthetician here because everyone wants flawless skin but they don't know how to take care of their skin.
Great video! Also yes to branding yourself!! I always tell my girls that people are going to book because they like YOU, they like your personality and feel that you will make them feel comfortable and welcomed!
I love this video :) I have been an esthetician for two years and have had 7 months working as a facialist and 4 months as a wax specialist. I’ve been wanting to go on my own so bad since I’m always feeling soooo stressed out about management. I’m still learning more on how to keep a client coming back but I’m not sure if I should make the big leap soon.
New Subscriber!!! You're talking my language: manifesting and working for what you want!!! Yessssss!! Been working on my business for 5 years & I am ready for the next level!!
You just Made my day🙏🏼❤️ Thank you🙏🏼 I have been wanting to take my esthetician license since I was in my 20’s and it was very expensive and I couldn’t afford it. I was a stay-at-home mom and put this dream in the back burner. Fast forward, I am now 46, working full time as a property manager and honestly craving a new adventure. I have been taking care of myself by working out, doing facials, massages, and body sculpting. I believe I am being pulled in to the beauty industry for a reason. Although, I love my job and the company I work for, I can confidently say I am ready to enter this industry. I thank you for the enlightenment and I’ll keep you posted on my adventure. God bless ❤️🙏🏼
This is super helpful. I am a pianist and I restore and paint garden statues. They are my passions and I want to turn both into a business. Even though it's not the same profession as being an esthetician, your info is really useful. Thanks and congrats on your success!!
I'm starting Esthetician school next month 🥰🙏🏽 I was thinking of starting off to work for Massage Envy but I for sure want to go Solo once I gain a lot more experience thanks for the tips!
I just got accepted into the Esthetician Program today! I came across your video just in time haha. I can't wait to start and I will watch this video everyday for motivation! Thank you!
Hi Kristen I just enrolled in school for the Esthetician program, I am very excited and I hope to gain your type of confidence soon. I found your videos on RU-vid and I just want to say that I love your openness, honesty and the way you present yourself on camera, you will have so much success in everything you do!
You are such a sweet soul for being honest and sharing how to help someone else grow I love that I work in a Dermatology office and also am a Medical Esthetician love hard work pays off!
Hi Kristen!! I am so happy I found you. I’m starting my second career in the esthetician industry after being in a career that I was miserable in for 10 years. I’m 37 years old and am hoping to be a mom to be so I am so so so inspired by your story! I guess you can be an entrepreneur and be a mom at the same time! I also am starting to share my career change journey on IG and I love how you said to not worry about what others think. I had some people give me flack over the years for wanting to change my career bc it was taking me a long time to figure what I wanted to do next. But I finally figured out that I want to be in the skincare industry. Little do they know most career changes take years. I too want to make products in the future and expand my esthetician career. Question, how many years do you think someone should get experience working for someone else before they start their solo entrepreneur? Thank you for your channel!!! ✨✨✨
Curious how things are going for you? I’m in the same boat - 38, in a totally different field, have children and planning to go to school for aesthetics.
This is such a great breakdown! I found this video because I wanted to find a good business model for my work as a hand therapist. I wrote down a lot of great ideas from listening to your video! Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you for being you and who you are and sharing, I'm just starting out as an Esthetician and got a lot of great ideas! Some things I was already doing so it's great to here that I am doing something right!❤
Just subscribed. Newly laid off due to COVID, but I found it to be a blessing because I’m now enrolled for the July cohort at my esthetician school. I do not see myself going back to work for someone and this video was so informative. Thanks 💕
you are so very inspiring! i am getting back into esthetics- going solo right away, renting my own room starting Jan 1 💗 i am nervous, excited, and hopeful for the future. your videos are giving me extra motivation & confidence :) i do have a separate IG i just started, that you’re making me reconsider… thanks for all your help!
My first time watching a whole video about how to succeed at something/to make certain amount of $$$ since most of the time i dont feel the sincerity from the person talking about it. I feel it from you though. Im 28 this year and planning on becoming a cosmetologist after years of not knowing what i want to do or to be in life. Im going to work hard.
Excuse where you in my head.. im only for 2 minutes in this video and already loving it! Just came a few weeks ago with the idea to start my own wax bar, im also a mom just had my second child in May 2021. Earning 10K working parttime wow that right there sis is what I need to be doing. You have a new best friend in me al the way from the Netherlands. Thank you
I love this video ! I got my esthetician license 3 months before covid hit & it was so discouraging when everything closed and I couldn't use my license! Things are starting to stay open in Cali (Bay Area) & I'll definitely be taking this advice since im finally able to work solo in my own suite like you !!!!!! please keep making more videos 💚💚🙏🏻 sincerely - another entrepreneur
Hello.😆 I am going to be going to school for esthetician next month & can’t wait!! This is the first video I’ve ever watched abt this stuff & you’ve been so helpful!!! You’re so gorgeous too!🥰
Enjoyed watching this video very relatable I’m licensed in California ive enjoyed being a model for makeup and facials and also put in the work performing services on friends classmates and family. This video was wonderful insight especially for anyone getting their Start.
Honestly! I been thinking about branding myself in this way. I really love skin care and I’m thinking of starting esthetician school here in NY. Thanks for the amazing tips and the great content, you have gain a new subscriber 💫
I am so happy that you are going for it in a busy place like NY! my biggest fear in starting this journey is competition. I won’t make it because there’s big name aesthetician out there in my city. That’s such a bad mindset to have. I know everything is about you and your brand. Doesn’t matter how many people are out there doing it. I know we can all do it. ❤️👏🏻
Yes to the socials! I once heard someone say use your current personal as your main base then turn it into your brand since your peers will likely be your first clients, then create a second private insta with just your family and friends if you still want to keep your circle in on your personal life.
As soon as you mentioned intention I liked followed and subscribed! Lol Thank you sooo much for the insight, I took a chance on beauty school and this video confirms my vision 🥰🥰🥰 thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you for the advice of keeping your personal and business account as one. I have a pretty decent following on my personal account where I talk about skincare and post some highlights about my personal life. When I opened my studio I decided to keep it on that same Instagram because I already have a strong following and I feel like what makes my business stand out is me as a person. I’ve been worried that I made the wrong decision, so I feel relieved hearing you say this!!
New Subbie and I love your content. I’m starting esthetician school tomorrow and I’m so nervous. I do want have my own studio or spa because I have a toddler home and don’t want to be an employee forever. So glad I found your channel!
New subscriber! I'm thinking about enrolling into esthetics school and was doing some research to be the most prepared I could be and I came across your video. Im so glad I did. Some of the tips you are sharing are some I never thought of. Im so excited to start this journey. You are truly an inspiration. Thank you for this video. Ok, im gonna go watch all your videos now, bye! LOL
Hey Kristen, I just rewatched this video you posted and I saw that you mentioned that you were told to create just one IG page for everything but I think actually think that it is also good to make your personal and a business one separate.
Thank you for your video,I just graduated 2 weeks ago and have been taking subclasses ever since.Living in NY the money is here,I just need to learn how to get it.
I Relate myself with you a lot more ,because I’m a mother of two kids & I’m a hustler thankfully to God my business is running good too & I am a big believer of Manifestations &And I never spend money to buy expensive purse I always invest my money towards to my business my spa business
Thank you for putting so much time and effort into breaking down sooooo much info and you are very good at explaining, giving examples and personal experiances.
You're such an inspiration and I totally admire your openness about every step. You videos have given me more insight as a solo aesthetician part-time with a full-time job and still in school 😵 Thanks boo 💕
I found your page today it is so nice to have all info in one place. Can you share any tips where to buy your equipment. I also started a youtube after covid hit and social media has been great to me
Thank you for your advice! I am still in beauty school. I will be graduating in a few months & I just can’t wait I am gonna watch all your videos so I can learn as much as I can! P.s new Sub ❤️
Do you think it’s absolutely necessary to be on social media? If no, do you have any advice on ways to brand yourself without the use of social media? Thank you!
