I do really like how you touch on the 'are you a nob?' aspect in photography. Photography has so much to do with the photographers personality but it's seldom a talking point! You could have two people with the same skill set, but if one is shy, lacking confidence, awkward a bit, even a tad creepy vs someone with confidence (but not too much), good interpersonal skills, not a dick, not overly charming to the point of vomit, just someone who seems pleasant to be around with a good sense of humour... then this represents the major difference in terms of incomes (and outcomes!), jobs and portfolio!

Gold advice again. No glamour, no fancy toys, if you run a business you have to think and graft. My mother told me I would have to get my head down and apply the elbow grease, I didn't like it but that's the way it is. Take care

Please demonstrate a scenario where one can just pick up a camera and shoot multiple dishes quick on a white background. One man job. On location. Also guide how to pick best shooting areas in small shops and how to guide the cooks in preparing photo ready dishes

I tired the headshot thing at the beginning of this year. I got zero signups. Wish I could pinpoint why. (my friends tend to think the area we live in is super weird about artists and photographers, which would explain my lack of productive marketing...) But the good news is I have a good rapport with a local studio who does a lot of commercial events and they frequently hire me to shoot step and repeat type work.. I have a standard 2 light setup that I can throw in my car and have up in a few minutes. Have over the card at the end of the day. Few hundred bucks, easy money.

Practical advice. No bullshit. (Not sustainable because it is what it is - quick product for quick money) Warning at the end - Don't be a knob. Good. RU-vid needs a retweet kind of function.

''Just announce that you're doing a full head shot day'' - Yeah this is implying that people already know who you are and/or know about you and what you're doing. If someone is just starting out in photography and nobody even knows they exist, they can't do 99% of the things people on RU-vid recommend - BECAUSE NOBODY EVEN KNOWS THEY EXIST YET! There are all these RU-vid channels of photographers and ''photographers'' giving random and sometimes even worthless and misleading advice, left and right, but nobody EVER, gives ACTUAL and HELPFUL advice on what to do when you're just starting out, because most, if not all, of these photographers giving advice don't even know themselves what to do when you're just starting out as a photographer, because they either got into the industry via family, friends or other connections. The closest to actual advice when starting out I've seen on RU-vid was given by Peter Coulson and even he doesn't really go into detail... Well... I guess we will just have to keep on looking through RU-vid...
