Watching your channel has been a life saver for me... Thank you so very much. I myself have IBS and I am a Coeliac. I am very limited to what I can eat. I wish I could enjoy the sweet foods but sadly my IBS won't let me. I have bought your book and I am now going to try and make this soda bread. Thank you again for your wonderful videos and advice. Cheers from me who is from Sydney Australia.
I have your cookbook and in 2 weeks I have made this bread 3 times, vegan too. I love love love it! It is not dry! I also add in herbs and spices, garlic powder, nooch, basil, caraway, thyme. So good
Hi Becky, totally love your book and your you tube vids. I have tried your soda bread recipe twice now following your instructions exactly (even bought a proving basket) but it turns out as flat as a pancake.....what am I doing wrong?
I baked this bread multiple times and every time is abslutely delicious. I slice it while it still is a bit warm and wrap in foil and store in the plastic container in the fridge. That way when I toast the slices they taste exactly as freshly baked bread. I'm going to try to bake it today in bread machine. I'm using Pamela's gluten free flour as that's the only one in US that has no xanthan gum (I'm allergic to yeast and xanthan gum). It is self raising gluten free flour.
oh my god. can it be??? been going to wholefoods and they don't seem to do proper loaves that are yeast free as well as gluten free. I bought some biona slices made of millet (about £4 for what, 5 tiny slices?) and it tasted like the devil's armpit. This is life changing stuff. Have you considered branding this and releasing your own product? Subscribed!
I tried this (without measurements) and it didn't come out great. The crust was too thick. The bread was a bit dense. The problem is that milk alternatives don't curdle - certainly the oat milk didn't curdle. Does soya milk curdle? Do you know any dairy alternatives that do? The other thing is that using a knife to mark a cross in it meant it fell apart almost into 4 squares so next time I won't mark it. Do you (or does anyone) know of an alternative milk that will curdle?
New Year eve 23 treated myself to your books for Christmas and this is the first time I've ever made GF Bread I've been GF for 20 + years so hereto my new chapter. Thanks so much
