You can find the answer to this and other FAQ here: peerlessrattan.com/faq/ We prefer to leave the rush in the natural state...however if you would like to seal it...you could use polyurethane or shellac. Also practice on scraps or on the underneath side to see if you like the way it looks.

Ok thanks that a good idea. Although your rush looks better quality than the one I purchased from another company.
