Yes, it snapped during filming NOES part 1. You could replicate it on my design by cutting the index blade and overlapping it, then supergluing it back together. I actually intended to do this, but forgot to when I was making this video.

That's what you get for being nice haha. To be fair, if you're not trying to get screen accuracy, the actual printing and assembly is not actually too much work. I spent longer making the leather glove than the "metal" parts.

Thanks so much for the kind comments! You're right about the scrap leather, it was just that I hadn't cut the hole out at that stage, so I didn't think of it lol. Mind you, I won't end up using the left hand glove by itself, so it went into my scrap-leather box anyway. Please let me know how you get on with your glove build and good luck mate.

Thank you. I used ‘Kisi Brown Liquid Shoe Polish’ (cheap knock off of Kiwi brand, from a local dollar store and ‘Kiwi Black Shoe Polish’ in a tin.

Shipping them from New Zealand would be uneconomical. Look up a local 3D printing group on Facebook and post a link asking for someone to print a set - it should be very cheap and easy.

@@Unpossible Thank you, I am torn on what 3D printer to buy since they are like computers, 3 months pass and the one you thought was the latest and greatest is old, lol. Thanks again for assistance on where to get these printed out. If you have any suggestions for a really nice 3D printer that is dummy proof (lol) let me know

That's the beauty of this build method, you can warm it up and form it easily into any shape you want. My instructions are for the average person to make a glove as easily as possible, but you can do whatever you like to make it match the look you want.

Don’t get your blades caught in the net!

I found some photos of the plastic stunt gloves in during my research. It would be pretty easy to modify this build to be similar to those gloves I think.

@@Unpossible the stunt glove has different sized stalls and backplate templates, the tips are similar, but also still shorter, I have drawn a set of them up

I just printed using default settings in Cura. I did find that if I printed too many pieces at once, they would lift off the bed, so I ended up printing the blades by themselves. I also used painter's tape on the print bead, but that was a brand new printer and now that I am used to it, I have stopped using the tape. If you have ongoing issues, I would try printing them with a brim, that might help.

@@EnigmaStudios_KalAlexander I use a leather needle in the sewing machine, but I just used regular polyester sewing thread. If I was making an actual work glove I would use something heavier, but this is never going to have much strain on those points, so regular thread will be strong enough.

I have been researching this for many years. I know the traced template you are talking about. I have an unpublished template I obtained a long time back, that I used as a starting reference, then I have printed hundreds of angles of each part, splicing them together digitally over the template and corrected what I believe are minor errors and distortions. Then making change after change until the printed pieces all aligned. Ultimately I ended up having to rescale the entire glove after my first full finished glove print. I literally have half a bucket of “incorrect” printed parts before I got to this design. Even for the blade, I used about 20+ reference images to get an accurate shape. I can’t say that every mm of this is perfect compared to the hero glove, but I’d bet my life on it that it’s incredibly close. I have been collecting NOES memorabilia since the first film came out in 84, so I have a LOT of reference photos in old magazines, behind the scenes images etc. This has been a bit of an obsession project for me, so I’m pretty sure I’m as close as I can get, without having the hero here for comparison. Ultimately though, I’m offering it for free, I get nothing out of sharing it, so if people like it, great, but I make no claims about its accuracy, because I just can’t. There is only one real glove in the world and a lot of people trying to get as close as they can to it. This is just my attempt.

@@Unpossible That's great to here you know of the templates I am talking about, I have the measurements of the hero glove, did you also happen to use all the shots of the hero glove as it is today? cause those are perfect reference for scaling each piece, and also you can get dead on shots to get the accurate blade shapes for each one, plus I'd love to see you 3D print the backplate as it is with all the bends included, it's drastically different from Part 1 and 2, your attempt is great though and you have the shapes all accurate of the flat template, the shaping of each piece is the really tough part, do you think you'll be able to convert the templates to print out as a paper set too?

@@pilummurialis6490 Yes, I spent a lot of time looking at the "found" hero photos, they were some of the most useful. My 3D modelling skills are not up to turning my flat pieces into a formed backplate unfortunately, but I am learning as I go, so perhaps one day. I don't know of any way to generate a paper copy from my files either, but I have a set of 3D prints that I will use as a template, in case I ever decide to make a metal glove. For now, I am exhausted from just making this project lol. Thanks for the kind words though man, you clearly know a lot about Freddy's glove, so that is encouraging to read your comments.

@@kevinstevens2310 One glove I know would be great to see you tackle, is the Part 4 hero glove, you have tons of reference of it from every angle so making those templates will be easy, they are really beaten to hell as well, but I am interested to see how they look flattened out like your Part 1/2 hero templates, also looking at your templates, one thing yours has that most don't, is the inconsistency in the lines, that is great because it's a nice detail to show how crude they really would be if the armature was broken down and hammered flat to get a direct measurement off of, building these things is a lot of work, but as long as you have fun doing it as a hobby, you're pretty much golden! I do hope you tackle the Part 4 hero as it was in the film, also the fact you spliced together screenshots for the templates, is one thing I had always wanted to see done

@@pilummurialis6490 I'm loathe to say I intend to do it, because many of my intentions take years to get round to, but I always loved Part 4 (though when I watch it now, I'm not so sure why), so I would like to at some point, but knowing how much time and money went in to this one, I might have a break from Freddy Gloves for a while lol. If I do tackle another one though, that would be the one I would like to try. As you say, there are loads of good clear photos and behind the scenes pictures of that one, so it shouldn't be as hard as this one was. Watch this space :)

I don't have any way to measure the temperature, but it does not take much. I used my heat gun on it's lowest setting and stopped as soon as the piece becomes flexible.
