So wrong in so many ways but, it is a working machine. Now how long does the operator keep all 10 fingers. I like machines and I just might make one close to what this one is. I don't think I would use it very long the way it was presented here. I am all about research and development but don't exceed the limitations of my medicines.
love the idea rough and ready but it works shows design does not have to be too complicated... One question how do you track the blade have you had any problems with it wondering and cutting into the side pieces?
I think he installs the guides at the 5:40 mark, I believe. Interesting build but I question how it is going to hold up over even a short period of time.
Yeah this just shows the basic principle (as many other videos) but blade tension is imo also a part of the basic, and wouldn't be that hard to achieve
you could add a simple blade tension system on the middle wheel if you put the bushing the the wheel blank and have the spindle spinning free. Two horizontal slots with springs or strong elastic bands pulling the spindle back in the slots..
I give this guy credit I seen good homemade bandsaws but this would work in a pinch accuracy appears a bit off but that can be overcome that old drill is getting a workout..Lol
Not bad dude but got to have tension and not use a 3 wheel design as they have a tendency of snapping blaades. Discovered this the hard way having bought a delta version of a 3 wheeler
Tensioner would be be good, and changing the blade will mean taking a lot of that apart. But still like the fact that it's a working band saw for the price of the blade and wood.
