I almost fell out of my chair laughing when the glass shattered...sorry but it was hilarious. I'm truly happy to watch your videos and to learn so much on how to do things right (and at times the wrong thing). I so wish you lived on the East Coast I'd have loved to be able to stop by and watch you make a project and video live. Please keep up your normalcy/ insanity and on being real person, it's a breath of fresh air each week. 🙃
John K hahaha ya it was funny. I even laughed at my stupidity that day lol

Hello my friend. I agree with the idea of barn doors and acoustic panels at a cheap cost. Good project. congratulations. You did a good job again. Good to watch you. Thank you for sharing. Great greetings. Yours truly....
@@KomarProject my husband and I built a back porch with that same cross wood look on the railings for the barnwood look. We love that rustic western look. You did a great job. We might be steeling that idea from you soon😁😉for our barn.
That barn door looks awesome. I’m going to refer back to this video when I finally replace my roll up shop door which has zero insulation. I might need to look into that restorer also. I like the torch and wire brush method for distressing my projects, basically shou sugi ban, but this tool would save some time. Great job once again.
Fantastic Door. Like the previous comment.. Seen a lot of barn doors but this one takes the cake. You mention that you can't make clear plastic opaque. Yes you can as I do it with a cheap harbor freight sand blaster. If you don't have one most car panel shops do and will be happy to do it for you. Kevin
Awesome! I have been waiting for this video since you posted about it on IG last week. That glass shattering was the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. You had time to finish scoring it, shut the grinder off, look down and BOOM. Nice 2" vertical when it happened too. Lol.
@@KomarProject let's not use "idiot", let's say "pioneer in experimentalism". Lol. I watched the video again and thought to myself, "was that tempered glass?" Kinda would make sense because I noticed the grinding wheel clip the edge as you finished the "cut". Could also be why the glass cutter didn't work. Idk.
That's a great solution all around and the price is right! The dust strips are a great idea, hopefully they don't wear the paint off the wall over time
Nice project as usual Bart. Be careful putting THIN plexi through the tablesaw....it can shatter quite nicely. They make a very whimpy looking scoring blade that works well. A couple scores and an snap. That's my tip for the day!
Your glass was tempered so it comes out the factory with internal stress all over. This makes it extremely resistant to breaking but when you crack it regardless of whether you used an angle grinder or not it would have exploded from the disruption of the stress forces holding the glass together. also you can use your ROS to sand the plexiglass to give it a frosted look
@@KomarProject Sorry, I already started laughing when you couldn't cut the glass with a glass cutter as I knew what would happen next. Best way to tell if it's tempered or not is tempered will generally be very smooth on the edges, normal glass can be a bit rough to the touch. And if you have scraps laying around, if it was for inside use (like furniture) - it's probably tempered. And as you found out, if it won't snap with a simple score - it's probably tempered.
This door is beautiful. If I sent you dimensions of our master bathroom door opening where I'd like to add a barn someday...would you be able to draw up similar light weight plans for my door size?..no windows needed in the door though. I'd even paypal you for the plans :)
Nice door, and that Porter Cable Restore tool is really cool...where did you get that? 😉 I really like the acoustic panels too! With all your projects, your use of total boat stands out as a favorite. Nice job, as always!
I got it on amazon with pretty much everything else. I have links to all of it in the description. It’s such a cool tool and you can add so many attachments to it
I haven't tried it yet, but I imagine you can use a tile cutter to score the glass and pop it. Like I said, haven't done it yet, but in theory it should work lol
Love your videos all the way here in Sweden. And Little Help to you. When you used the tool to the glas you are supose to tap under the glas and it will crack where you marked. 😁 Sorry for bad English
I'm not certain that would work. The way the glass shattered seems similar as car window shattering, so I'd guess the glass would be hardened. I think it's called safety glass. Very nice project anyway, I love your style! :)
I'm trying not to like you... and then I found myself watching like 5 of your videos. Haha and then I saw you also served in Afghanistan. So I like you now haha. Make more videos!
Just so you know, that was toughened glass you were trying to cut, which is heat treated. It’s not able to be cut as it’s designed to break into tiny safe pieces. I mist admit I cringed when I saw the angle grinder cause I expected it to explode in your face…..glad your ok!
I'm going to kill my husband over a barndoor for my office that I work in that needs to be quite for my calls but when I click the link for the hardware for the door it doesn't come up with anything. So can you recommend another set?
Maybe the link just needs to be updated. Here is another just like it. DEKIRU 12 Pack Acoustic Panels Sound Proof Padding, 14 X 13 X 0.4 Inches Sound Dampening Panels Used in Home & Offices(Hexagon,Black) www.amazon.com/dp/B0894CLK38/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wu8qFbJBY757D
