Hi guys!
Welcome back for another tutorial!
This tutorial is part of a 2 piece set I did. Today I'm showing how I made this gorgeous batwing style blouse/top.
Its very easy to sew and perfect for beginners!
I used a very silky material to get the flow I wanted. However, I would not recommend this type of fabric for beginners as it was quiet difficult to work with.
This blouse will compliment a skirt or trousers. Perfect as workwear/formal wear or just day to day wear. The sleeve detail is soo beautiful and so easy to achieve!

Flipping brilliant , I overcook and over complicate everything even to the point of pinning fabric before I put pattern on then talk myself out of it being right 😭😭😭I've lost many many hours doing this

Then you extend the waist all the way down to the width of your hips to yoir desired length.

I would like to make this today. 60" fold in half is 30" then half again is 15". I measured 30 " infront of me with the tape and I find it will be short on my arms. Or is it once it's finish, it falls the right length? Also the 11" is for your measurements. So mines would be more meaning hips divived by 4. I am not a fashiinista. I am just here to watch and learn to make outfits for myself. I am learning. That is why I am asking those questions. Thank you in advance

Hi. Thank you for your comment. Just to be clear maybe it wasn't clear enough on the video....I folded the fabric in half LENGTH WAYS first to cut my desired length...I noted what mine was at the beginning. Once I got this piece I folded it in half length ways again....then in half width way if that makes sense. So effectively the 60" wide will be your arm to arm measurement which after you have added the fold at the end and added the elastic, the sleeve length for me fell below my elbow. I hope this makes sense. And yes your hip measurement divided by 4 to get your specific hip reading. I would add a few inches for movement x

It's a silk like satin. It's very slippery and actually I wouldn't recommend for complete beginners as it was difficult to work with x

How do you et the length from the shoulder to the waste.

You measure using a measuring tape from shoulder to the waist. Or alternatively you can use the length of an existing top or blouse that you like as a guide x

I'd say you would use your waist measurement and use that to extend the arm length x

How do you size it to fit a larger person than yourself

You would use an existing skirt with a stretchy fabric that already fits you and use that as your pattern...remember to add a couple of inches or 3 for seam allowance and ease. Otherwise measure the widest part of your wait/hips and use this to cut out the width of the skirt x

@@CreationsBySheyThen I cannot hear your instructions. It's really common for anyone with auditory or sensory processing disorders to be unable concentrate. If there is dialogue and moving visuals AND music it creates distortion in their brains. Just FYI. Hope that helps.
