I think this is pretty close to the reality of Western media’s reporting of China not only on Covid-19 but all matters regarding China. More often than not reporters with biased views of China are employed so they don’t need much pushing to file negative stories.

This is 100% accurate. I live in Hong Kong and saw what was going on during the riots. The BBC on the other hand portrayed a VERY different story.

I was a journalism student from early 2000. Back then, most affordable student PCs at home were only capable of editing audio assignments where video editing had to be done on campus, not to mention all the unaffordable software licences. The world was rather peaceful then, comparing to now.

You forgot one thing, "BBC Hidden Camera" whenever u approach a Chinese security u got to shake ur camera and turn on ur slow mode~ that is how it work

哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈😄。I swear to God that I just watched the CNN version 40 minutes ago about going back to Wuhan one year later, then thought about the same stuff editing manipulations immediately!! Most of the Western reporting never veered far away from that dirty yellow undertones. What is up with the dirty ugly market, dirty ground, dirty people spread out the video? You know Wuhan has money and glitsy malls and cars and nice places, right, CNN? They found the same guy whom was interviewed by tons of Western Media. The gentleman lost his father because his dad went to a hospital not knowing COVID was spreading so his dad caught the virus and passed away. It is really sad that his dad died and the son now wants justice, stating why the government PURPOSELY CONSEALED the information and he is filing a lawsuit against the government but there is no response, then cited how this is against China's self proclaimed "rules and laws" and thus not democratic....So here we go again. Yes, looking back at the situation, even the Superman could fly faster to spread the information. But people were trying to figure out what the hell was going on, such as whether it was an airborne disease or not, and could it be passed from person to person. What did you want them to tell the whole world about something they themselves did not know about and close all the hospitals? There is another interview of similar nature but the lens focused on really odd things, like the Buddha Fruits the lady gave the CNN crew to eat, which looks a bit like weird alien octopus....Then the lens went to dark corners of the house.....Creepy. Eeelll, Chinese people are just creepy, eating odd foods and living under oppression. Then they showed two happy scenes of Wuhan but the context was abhorrent : Wuhan people celebrating the defeat of the virus and was having a huge pool party and then the October 1st Independence Day party, but how dare they when so many are suffering and Wuhan is the "CAUSE". At the end of the report the guy who lost his father and the interviewer stood above the dirty river with some strange trash in it floating in greenish yellow water. Yuck. Who the fxxk would want to visit such a place, ever?

"IT DOEN'T MATTAH!" That should be BBC's new motto

My, my...This deserves The Pulitzer Prize! And how true! I have lived in a Westernised Asian society and the folks there totally believed that the BBC would be honest about China. Thanks to RU-vidrs like yourself who has travelled or lived (or still living) in China, and taking the trouble to analyse news reports of China by the BBC or New York Times, folks in Asia finally come to realise how the Brit govt use half-truths to paint everything China does in a bad light. A long queue becomes a protest line, that sort of slander optics. I've opened up my eyes these last 3 years. Remember, China was bullied by eight Western nations and asked to pay 18,000 tonnes of silver when it was already in disarray and impoverished back in 1901. Instead of helping, these Western nations exacted money....blood money. How cruel is that? They obviously do not see the Chinese as human beings worth saving. All that after the UK insisted China sell opium to its people, and China rightfully refused. China was militarily weak at the time, but not now. The same thing happened to Russia after the fall of the Berlin Wall, national resources stolen by Western nation corporations, etc. Thank goodness for Putin, and in China, Xi. Given this kind of yellow journalism and propaganda, you being to understand how the British brainwashed the kids in HK even ten years before the handover in 1997 with prejudicial textbooks and anti-China slander in the schools, etc. Once more, thank you for this brilliant piece of work! I will definitely forward this!

Ha ha...This is what western media show...beautifully depicted the reality....Last time during xinfadi outbreak in Beijing...my friend from india called me and asked...its a second wave..in china..you should come back....I explained him whole procedure how outbreak controlled here, he was shocked and told me here in media, it's like china is ghost town again bla bla...we laughed a lot... We are also living in china and we felt it's duty to educate someone who doesn't know about these biased narrative...
