I already have videos on how to fix collars on shirts

Add Extra i.e make it longer ...let's say the round Neck is 16" and your zipper allowance is 2" on each side i.e 4 inches total ..then the 16 + 4 gives you 20...Then use 20 as the round Neck while drafting/cutting the collar...pls if this helps you like our video and share also... thanks and 💕 you...

Ok for the reduction of the ½ inch into ¼ is because he doesn't want the sewing seem allowance for the collar to be much so as to not eat too deep into the measurements cut out for the sewing (so all you have to do is sew through the ¼ inch seem allowance on the main neckline so it sits perfectly well

And as for the ¼ inch gap he gave to and started sewing from were he did is so you could sew through the neck well without interruption from the collar

It's an allowance for the neck joining....

Taking it downwards will increase the length of the collar and it won't fit perfectly that's why he said upward instead so it will sit perfectly well on your neck line
