I can't say anything about being worth it relative to the work involved (seriously, I shudder just thinking about it). But from a viewer's perspective, I was pretty well blown away. Really, really excellent job. I am in awe.
I will... but I don't know when. I've got a couple of video's lined up (the current one's a BIG project). It may take a bit, but it will definitely happen by the end of this year.
Thanks very much. I did indeed try to kick it up a notch or two. I hadn't counted on the crazy amount of extra work that would bring though. Over 24 hours of uploading in a row, and 200+ annotations to add just for the tutorial bits. I think it was worth it though..I think :) So impressed is a kind of pinkish colour then? Have a happy holiday!
I'll add that to my list of ideas. Pac man's not so different then the bob-omb, so it should be pretty easy to modify the pattern. Thanks for the suggestion!
I'm working on one right now (not a plushy this time though). The one I have planned after that is a plush though. I've got some exciting things lined up for the near future for video's too, and there will definitely be an opportunity to get some Q&A's in. I'll be making an announcement video once everything's all official like.
Wow; that is really incredible--it seems like you tried to kick it up a few notches with this one and succeeded. Color me impressed. "Impressed" is next to fuchsia on the color wheel, if you wanted to know.
How to make a plush Bob-Omb from the Super Mario Bros. It took a little longer than normal but the final video for That's PS! of 2012 is finally available for viewing! Read more about it and find the pattern at: thatsps.com/blog/how-to-make-a-plush-bob-omb/
I bought mine at Fabricland. You may not have a fabric land near you, but there are many fabric stores that you are probably not aware of that sell this, or something like this. If you only look for reasons a thing cannot be done. That's all you'll find.
Thanks! I started with a 6 piece ball pattern, and then just kinda figured out the rest as I went. I make the actual pattern in pixelmator on a mac. It's not really built to make them, but I've gotten pretty good at making it do what I want My first attempt turned out pretty rough (check out the last second of the video to see it) I took all the things I learned from the first attempt and tweaked it so that it was better the second time around Don't forget to subscribe if you want to see more!
That is awesome. I'd love to make my own bomb from the eighties from super Mario bros super show in the memory of Harvey Atkin who did the voice of King Koopa.
I think that he's a tad above my skill level to make. Lots of complicated parts to put together. I'll add it to my list of suggestions though. Perhaps one day I'll be good enough to tackle him. Thanks for the suggestion!
Still my fab video from you is the saber hilt I bought the parts to make it and some electrical parts so I can make it light up like a prop and thanks for these awesome videos your fan Ivan
A man that can sew, and amazing things at that. Yum Yum ;) lol great job btw i'm super happy i found this i've always wanted a Bob-Omb! and a Boo plush too! so thanks a lot!
If by the sheets you mean the pattern, then they're available on my site.. and there's a direct link in the description. If you don't mean that.. then I don't know what you mean.
I'm glad you like it :) And this "is" a how-to video... you can make your very own. The link to the pattern's in the description. .and there's lots of help on this one. Trust me, having one that you made yourself, is a great deal more awesome than having one someone made for you Unless of course you want to give me lots of money for one :)
If there's a part you'd like to see in more detail, just click the "Want help" link in the top left, or if you don't have annotations on, I've linked the help videos in the video description. Also, if there's anything that still doesn't make sense, I'll be more than happy to clarify for you.
I have an entire playlist where I show each step in more detail. It's at the bottom of my channel page, or you can go direct to any of the individual video's from the description.
He's not 100% gone. Just not making YT videos anymore. I updated the link the dooblydo, or you can d/l it direct from here: thatsps.com/patterns/bobomb/pattern.pdf
Being 12 should not stop you from trying. Yours may not turn out exactly the way mine did, but I think you'd find that once you got started that it's really not as impossible as it seems right now. Perhaps your parents, or a friends parent or aunt/uncle could give you some help. And remember, the only way to be certain you will fail at something is to not try.
awesome this should help me when I make a happy tree friends beat up cuddles, and evil flippy. Wait till the cheerleaders see me cuddle with a mangled bloody rabbit, and an evil bear xD. The cuddles plush toy wil have 2 or 1 bone sticking out of him :D
Unfortunately that would barely even cover the materials, let alone the 5+ hours it takes to make one. However, if you go bargain material hunting.. and already have or can borrow things like scissors/sewing needles/thread, you might be able to make it yourself for about that much. You can also find similar plushes on Amazon for about $14.
