Great video! Electrical tape is definitely a temporary fix, like you said. I just wanted to point out it gets super-gooey after a year if you loom with electrical tape. Definitely use heat shrink for long-term looms.

Thanks, this was actually really useful for me. I may or may not make my own loom, but the dog tag labels idea was great. In the past I've tried various sticky label methods to label my cables, and inevitably they end up leaving a horrible sticky mess when I have to change them (I'm going through that right now as I've moved house and I'm re-designing my studio).

Running power cable parallel to your unbalanced audio cables? No thanks!

I was concerned with this when I built my bands looms, but I used Gotham GAC-1 Ultra Pro (4 times shielded, low capacitance) cable and don't have any issues.

How's this holding up after 4 years? And thanks for sharing.

Especially if you’re if you are a keyboardist, and you have to deal with power, 2 usb, din midi, sustain and expression pedals, and a mic.. For audio only / 2 ch audio and power there are multicore solutions out there, but for less typical situations this is a fairly good solution

@@csabislezak8485 I made a similar loom with 1x power cord, 1x network cable, and 1x MIDI. I had one of these RJ45 to 4x XLR boxes at each end to have a slimmer loom.Worked great =)
