I made a ”carp streamer” for Boy's Festival using origami.
I started making the 15cm x 15cm origami paper by dividing it into two pieces and gluing them together to make them 30cm x 15cm.
Please note that scissors are also used for the scales.
*The eyeballs are made using the adhesive (glue) part of a post-it note.
In Japan, We hang up the carp streamers called “Koinobori” (carp-shaped streamer) on Children’s day.　Parents display “Koinobori” hoping that their children will grow up healthy and strong. The origin of “Koinobori” is a historical event in ancient China. It’s said that a carp was the only one which won a race among other fishes, and became a dragon. That’s why a carp was chosen to be a symbol of Boy’s festival.
Basically, this channel is designed to be understandable to young children and people around the world, and this video does not contain any verbal explanations or text sentences. You can fold it slowly while looking at the screen because you point your finger at where you want to fold it next and raise your hand.
