How to Make a Cat Scratcher

Scratching is an essential part of your cat's life. Make this simple DIY cat scratcher to provide your pet a great scratch area and some safety for your furniture.
VERY IMPORTANT: Make it yourself, but take care of your pet. Use non-toxic materials and never add any pieces that can easily detach. If you see your cat chewing cardboard, immediately remove the item from your pet’s environment.

Love it! I wouldn’t glue it to the bottom tho, that way I can turn it around and have 2 times the amount of use!

Thank you! I'll make this for my baby boy right now. He is a neighborhood cat (my mom doesnt like cats for some reason so I can't have one :( ) and I help take care of him. His name is MeMeow and he was abandoned. My neighbor feeds him and gives him water while I make sure his health is okay and play with him. So I think I am his owner! I got way off topic! I made this and decorated it with colored cardstock! My cats love it! I didn't have to turn the pizza box inside out. I just cut off the sides, made the one side edge and glued it in to the bottom. Worked like a charm. My cat that hates scratching on the sisal post has taken to this and is finally leaving my coffee table legs alone! Thank you so much! I can't wait to make more! (I wrote my review on the wrong DIY video like a dunce, whoops.)

Im guessing it doesnt last long amd leaves bits of cardboard everywhere? Wish mine would go for the table not my nice soft carpet. The Shits expensive😂😂

I moved recently from my house and never had a scrstch post. My cat normally uses a door frame but I dont wamt him to ruin grandmas couches so I'll deffinitely use this idea.

ok just did this. 50is strips inside the box is a lot. took a lot of glue as well. just had enough. I hope it lasts a while. cat might be joining our family tomorrow. I saw another video where the guy had a table saw. that is the way to get this done. Also when you get boxes to cut up. get boxes that held packaged factory food. not fruits and veggies.

i started making one today, with a big pizza box, it looks so quick in the video, but i'm 4,5 hours in and only 2/3 done, it's freaking exhausting. i hope it will last a year when i'm done.
