I don’t know if you read comments on older videos, but im an artist. My comic career picked up a little faster than i thought it would and I just wanted you to know that your videos have helped a lot on the mindset of a comic writer. Something I find very valuable while drawing. I’ve began to watch all your vids and it’s very helpful. Thank you so much.
Love the video!!❤ Touched on the insecurities I feels about starting and finishing a comic, makes me feel better honestly dude. I heard Hunter S. Thompson would copy The Great Gatsby over and over, that writing a true great work allows you to feel what it feels like to write a great piece of work. I’m gonna try to approach it like that, maybe draw out The Watchmen panel by panel
No worries buddy, glad it helped! Honestly if I can make comics anyone can! Don’t wast your time copying watchman, just start writing your own comics…but start small. You’ll do great 👍
Another book I’d highly reccomend to get you in the right mindset is Show Your Work by Austin Karin. It’s not about comics, but about creativity in general, been really important to how I tackle projects like this. Like video Matt, cool you’re doing this.
Another resource I'd recommend is the book "Comics Experience Guide to Writing Comics: Scripting Your Story Ideas from Start to Finish" by Andy Schmidt. My go-to book when it comes to writing!
I bought mine years and years ago through Kickstarter BUT I did recently replace my pc and needed to redownload the materials. I was able to get them from their site without proof of purchase...I think their logic is, people will buy it digitally or second hand...so will still need it...and there is no point downloading it if haven’t read the book because it’s worthless to you...if that makes sense 🤪 It’s here 👍 masterdigitalcolor.com/hfc4c/
