How to make a DJI Mavic Clone Quadcopter With 3D Printer

Cute, it looks a bit like a Mavic. But as the owner of multiple drones, the reason I spent over a grand on a Mavic is because it has a 4k camera on a gimbal and will stream video 7km and fly home via GPS, has ultrasonic to avoid bumping into things, a downward facing camera to lock onto a home point to within inches, a head tracking headset with full telemetry overlay on a heads up display with artificial horizon and has fully autonomous capability. Also has barometer and compass as well as GPS so you can "park" in the sky hands off for 20 min + . Can this blue one do any of that? I think not.

A drone this awesome deserves a better control board than a kk2. I like the spracing f3 even though loading the firmware is a pain.

You can use apm 2.8 or pixhawk instead of kk 2.x as apm is stable and has more features like GPS etc

Really cool. Maybe you could do something about the music cutting out when there is sound on the video as the sound isn't necessary and it's pretty annoying if the music cuts out constantly,

very cool video and home made drone, congrats! But it's definitely not a mavic air ;) not very stable, lot of oscillations, the range is 500m at most with no FPV, no super stable and orientable 4k camera, no camera for collision detection and for very precise altitude, no GPS, etc

Great video and step by step instructions, thank you! Quick question - it seems that all 8330F Mavic props have 3mm shaft diameter, bullet adapter's shaft in the description is 5mm on output, how did you fit yours? I'm struggling to find bullet adapters that have 3 mm output shaft.

You should put a spring on the fold out joints between the nut and the inside of the joint, so when you go to fold out the propeller arms there is a way for the arms to flex open so that there is enough space for the proud locking joints to move into the receiver joints and then the spring will tension the joint back up when they interlock. I explained this terribly, I hope you see what I mean tho....

I built a clone a few weeks ago. Just purchased the chassis components off Ebay for about $40 dollars. Works great. I used a NAZI system for flight control.

What size screws did you use? Printed mine in grey black silk PLA, for body and legs in carbon fiber PLA. Came out awesome, just need screw sizes.

Neat, but I worry about all those solder connections. Not that they will fail, but I worry that should I break something (frame wise) it will be a lot of work to transfer over the electronics. Are there any easy/cheap quick disconnects that you are aware of? Probably buying all the crimpers and supplies for that would offset the affordability of this drone though...
