I love that you make videos on such niche topics. Please don't change when you inevitably end up with a couple hundred thousand subscribers. @@thriftyoperator637 worked out really well, the cotton material gives it a little stretch so im able to squeeze extra things like 7.62 mags, 600ml water bottles .etc. had left over material so I had a go at making a similiar style recce rig like your other video but with mp5 mags. it turned out okayish haha, tagged you on instagram if wanted to see the results, thanks again for the awesome videos. any chance you'd revisit the plate carrier tutorials? i'd love to see how a JPC 2.0 style carrier comes together

I use a chop stick when popping corners out and working seams. You have both a rounded blunt end and a slightly shaper skinny end. 👍🏼

you can get rid of the twist by stopping in the middle when you sew all the way around and then doing the other side in the same direction so the foot doesnt drag the fabric in opposite directions

Hey man could u do a video on a padded adjustable rifle sling. I bought a template from a guy on RU-vid with material list and for whatever reason no matter what I do i can't get the material tight against the foam like he has it. His video doesn't go into very good detail about it ur vid r perfect to understand. It's by snarky arts if u wonna see what I'm trying to accomplish.

Do you mean 3 in one pouch with a flap or three individuals single stacked in a shingle?
@beguinworkshop9068
@beguinworkshop9068 2 года назад
@@thriftyoperator637 single stacked. sorry if that was unclear. something low profile (somewhat like a bfg triple) cause I am wanting to take a shot at making one for my pc.

@thriftyoperator637 2 года назад
@@beguinworkshop9068 look through my videos from about a year ago for one titled “how to make a mag pouch//plate carrier shingle”. That one isn’t molle though. I have seen a good video on one of those from another channel so you might search around.
@DaveSmith-cp5kj
@DaveSmith-cp5kj 2 года назад
@@beguinworkshop9068 You mean their 10 speed? Because all you have to do with that is sew a molle panel with straps, and then on top of that sew 6" elastic on top flat, and sew vertical stiches 2.5" apart. If you want a velcro closure, sew velcro onto the elastic before you sew it on, and sew a the velcro flap as you sew the molle.

Not sure about your budget, but Sailrite makes some pretty beastie machines. I'm still learning but I took over my wife's LSZ1 zig zag. I can sew as many layers of cordura that can possibly be crammed under the foot.

I've been really into your videos lately and gonna try making my own pouches and such. I see you get your Cordura from Amazon, is that reliable? How do you know when it's crappy material? Also what is an okay price for Cordura? Cause I see a lot of sites, some are expensive as hell and others really cheap!

Great video! 2 questions….. how heavy duty of a sewing machine does one need? I’ve been eyeing an Amazon special for a while. Why not Malice clips instead of the string method
@TheFinalAppeal
@TheFinalAppeal 2 года назад
And 3….. would uniform material be too thin for this application? I’d love to use woodland MARPAT
@thriftyoperator637
@thriftyoperator637 2 года назад
@@TheFinalAppeal I haven’t used many machines so I can’t speak for most but I used the super cheap brother sewing machine that I have linked for a long time and it did pretty good. I just had to hand feed it the thicker parts. I used loops because they are simple and you don’t have to buy anything else. Uniform material may be a little too thin but you don’t know until you try.
@JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen
@JohnnyUrbanWoodsmen 2 года назад
hey if you dont mind me chiming in, I would not get that cheap brother sewing machine, No disrespect to the channel owner, but that brother will give you more headaches then help, I wouldnt go any cheaper then the Singer heavy duty 4432, and if you want anything heavier, get a sailrite clone, like a sewstrong , or Rex607 for $399 or $499 with a 9" bed, which is what I use, (I have a video)with a Sailrite balance wheel upgrade, now thats a power house, second to getting a industrial sewing machine, plus its mobile. Hope this helps
