How to make a Dragon Staff for under $10 

Did you ever get around to making your dragon staff? How did it go?

It's PVC.

Sorry for your pains. We get an oak dowel rod as close to the ID as possible, then we wrap the dowel with tape is it's too thin. Usually just one or two wraps. We've never had much problem. You can see and hear the dowel slide in the tube near the beginning of the video. It's fairly close in diameter.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Doesn’t the sliding dowel rod throw off the weight distribution causing one to have to open it up and readjust it?

So the tape will keep the the dowel from sliding. We put the dowel in the center by cracking the depth to one side before putting the dowel in.

@@AprilJenniferChoi how did you get the dowel to stay in the middle of the pole, did you glue it? I'm confused about how I place the dowel in the pole.

Friction. I did not glue it. I add tape to the dowel until it is will just barely go in. Then I hammer it in until it is centered.

Depends how stiff and heavy you want it. 3-4 ft should be a good starting point.

@@Bambigirl84 weight is personal preference. I'd go with a 5/8 oak dowel, 4 ft long, placed dead center. Make sure it's fits in the tube, then snug it up with tape, and then just glue it. :)

This one is not for fire. It's just for practice.

You got always a Tool for fire, and one for practise ... always!
