Great video with useful content. I might add a FYI. When gathering dried kindling around rocks, keep in mind snakes love to get in those area's. Use a stick to drag out before handling. PS. A solid black spider with a bright red spot on backside is a Black Widow, deadly.

Yes, & a brown recluse is scary looking (the big ones) & can run on water. But the babies are bad cause you dont see them & barely see them. The venom rots the tissue it is injected into...you can actually lose a hunk of flesh or part of a limb unless treated...i'm scared of them after getting bit two summers in a row. Babies hitched a ride on my earlobe as i dog paddled around the pool. Wouldn't believe the black stuff that poured out of my earlobe. I used clorox & squeezed it out. Don't like doctors. Thanks for listening. 😳🕷🕸👂🏊‍♀️🤤

@@beccathib3656 i hate brown recluses, they can look like normal spiders until you get necrosis from em

@beccathib3656 - I've known people to get bit by brown recluse spiders in CT. Yes, they're just about everywhere in The USA now unfortunately.

Just discovered your channel. Subscribed! I’m 51 and new to bushcraft. I always liked roaming around the woods where I grew up. I wish my parents would’ve put me in the boy scouts back then, or had a father who enjoyed bushcraft and taught me. Would you be my dad, mister? 😂 Seriously, thank you for the videos!

In Pennsylvania all you need do is find a large conifer... Shelter and fire starter kit..
@WoodsboundOutdoors

Large lending pines are the way to go..said a Pennsylvania resident.. Rain or snow..find a large conifer..😏

Pine is great! But I virtually have none in my area. They aren’t native to my area of Appalachia

Great tip, not sure how effective it’ll be here in the PNW, mostly evergreen forest of fir, with little pine or deciduous material. But… you got me thinking about forests differently

The least amount of work when you need a fire is always the best way. The same goes for shelter
